Something to look at while driving by it ... and that is probably good enough look.

OK, if you are a huge history buff and want to see something that has been there for a long time that marks a famous person's land, then by all means go and see this. Is it cool when you are driving ... yes. It's...More

Interestingly enough, the Eagle Gate has been there since the time Brigham Young lived. It was actually part of the gate entrance to his estate that included the Beehive house. Now I am not sure it has been moved or anything, but it is a...More

I found the gate to be kind of cool but wasn't really blown away buy the gate itself. It certainly can't be missed and it's an easy sight to view when checking out the downtown SLC area.

We enjoyed seeing Eagle Gate. Its a statue that goes across the intersection of State Street and South Temple. It marks the entrance to Brigham Young's property at the mouth of City Creek Canyon in Salt Lake City. My favorite view is towards the Utah...More

It's called a gate and a monument but it's more of an archway that spans the street. The monument was erected in 1859 and commemorates the entrance to Brigham Young's property. From here you can step right over to the Beehive House and Lion House...More

The Eagle Gate is a bit underwhelming, since it's simply suspended over the intersection and the only real viewing of it is from the sidewalk of a busy city street. However, it's right next to the Lion House, the former home of LDS church president,...More

This stunning ART piece is a true symbol of the beauty of Salt Lake City. It spans the main artery of traffic for the beautiful capitol city. State Street leads to the Capitol building, itself a wonderful sight to tour. South Temple street is the...More

A short walk from Temple Square takes you past the Lion House, the Beehive and on to the Eagle Gateway. All of which are of historical interest concerning Brigham Young. Perhaps as three individual sights, you might not make a special journey to see them, but...More

Well - it's there. If your walking around the City Creek Centre and Temple Square then you'll probably see it. Maybe take a photo - then move on. Not worth going out of your way to see.
