Discover the amazing underwater world of the Texas State Aquarium! Thousands of animals representing over 320 different species are ready to enchant, entertain, and inspire you. Corpus Christi's most popular cultural attraction has welcomed over 12 million visitors since its grand opening in July 1990. Conveniently located on North Beach, the Texas State Aquarium is just minutes from Corpus Christi's downtown district, convention center complex, and museums. The Texas State Aquarium Association is a not-for-profit, educational institution that does not receive any city, state, or federal funding for its operations. Every visit to the Texas State Aquarium is a new and exciting discovery of animals that remind us all of our responsibility to those whose world we share. The Aquarium's Second Chances Wildlife Rehabilitation Program is federally permitted and operates under rigorous standards established by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA). Each year, thousands of protected, endangered or threatened species along the Texas coast become ill or injured. Most are brought to our facility with problems caused directly or indirectly by humans. The goal of the Texas State Aquarium's Second Chances Program is to rehabilitate, and whenever possible, return the animals to their natural environment. Pretty expensive ticket to see an average aquarium. For the same price, I would more strongly suggest visiting the Dallas World Aquarium in downtown Dallas. The dolphin show was quite nice, the bird show was mediocre, and the otter "show" was okay. Aquarium displays were ok. Best aquarium in Texas is probably the Dallas World Aquarium in downtown Dallas--quite an... More

Expected more from my visit to the aquarium. A few nice exhibits, but could have been a lot better. The aquarium was under construction, not even the shop was open. They had a corner in the visitors lounge where you could buy your mementos.

Nice small little place. Has a few exhibits. The dolphin show is very nice and a chance to touch the sting rays also is something different. I also enjoyed seeing a tanks which was a replica of typical Gulf of Mexico platform underwater life. The rest of it was very average. Worth a one time visit.

Kids and adults will love this aquarium. The jellyfish room is mesmerizing. The staff are very informative. The habitats appear well cared for and the fish look very healthy. The dolphin show is fun to watch. But the rehab turtles are my favorite. I could stand at the tank and watch them swimming around for hours. Very peaceful! The Caribbean... More

The Texas State Aquarium was fun and informative. The shows in the different venues were funny and entertaining. They are adding a huge addition onto the venue which will be nice. We loved the dolphin show and the bird show.

This is a very nice aquarium and has a friendly staff. It's not nearly as big as what we expected. We saw all the shows and walked through the whole thing in about 2 hours. The food at the grill leaves a lot to be desired but overall it was fun.

This aquarium was a pleasant surprise to say the least. Situated right next door to the USS Lexington you can do both attractions in the same day. This aquarium offered numerous shows throughout the day, plenty of displays to marvel at and a wonderful attentive staff. There are interactive pools for all ages to watch and in some cases touch... The aquarium is also a rescue center for turtles, dolphins and such. They have regularly scheduled attractions/talks with dolphins, turtle, river otters, bird and animals, and so on. Very nice exhibits of fish, jelly fish and sharks. They have snack bar/food and a gift shop. Currently expanding so will be better still.

The aquarium was very informative about the different types of ocean life around the gulf. The exhibits were anything but boring. my daughters were able to pet jelly fish, rays, even some small sharks! The dolphin show was awsome as well.

Great access with easy and plenty of parking, only $5 to park. There adding on to the complex and should really make this a top notch facility.
