Discover the amazing underwater world of the Texas State Aquarium!...

Discover the amazing underwater world of the Texas State Aquarium! Thousands of animals representing over 320 different species are ready to enchant, entertain, and inspire you. Corpus Christi's most popular cultural attraction has welcomed over 12 million visitors since its grand opening in July 1990. Conveniently located on North Beach, the Texas State Aquarium is just minutes from Corpus Christi's downtown district, convention center complex, and museums. The Texas State Aquarium Association is a not-for-profit, educational institution that does not receive any city, state, or federal funding for its operations. Every visit to the Texas State Aquarium is a new and exciting discovery of animals that remind us all of our responsibility to those whose world we share. The Aquarium's Second Chances Wildlife Rehabilitation Program is federally permitted and operates under rigorous standards established by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA). Each year, thousands of protected, endangered or threatened species along the Texas coast become ill or injured. Most are brought to our facility with problems caused directly or indirectly by humans. The goal of the Texas State Aquarium's Second Chances Program is to rehabilitate, and whenever possible, return the animals to their natural environment. The Aquarium is an accredited member of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums and is a member of the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums. The Aquarium's mission is to engage people with animals, inspire appreciation for our seas, and support wildlife conservation.

The Texas State Aquarium is our favorite. Presently it is adding several large new additions and exhibits. They offer many adventures for out of town visitors and for the local visitors. It is one of the best aquariums in Texas. They offer beautiful exhibits with sharks, coral reefs, and many other amenities to charm and wow visitors. One of the... More

The aquarium is one of the bright spots in CC. It is smaller than other aquariums around the country, but they are expanding. Currently they have indoor and outdoor exhibits and they host special shows/talks throughout the day. They also have a water park area that is just the right size for the younger kiddos, but it is only open... More

The kids loved seeing the animals and playing at the splash pad. The shows are fun and the exhibits are great. They are adding on, can't wait to go back

Right now, the aquarium is undergoing construction. They are adding on a large new wing for the Caribbean section and should be completed next year. The construction does not affect the current exhibits. That being said, The current exhibits are all on the small side. The indoor exhibits are a good size, but the outdoor exhibits are small and dont... More

We had en enjoyable visit to the Texas State Aquarium last week. We had signed up for a lunch and learn tour, a sort of 'behind the scenes' thing they were doing. We ended up getting there well after it started due to some construction on the route we were traveling down to Corpus Christi. The ticket booth outside was... More

We've been here twice now, and loved it both times. There is a lot of expansion going on with the aquarium right now, but that should wrap up in the next year or so. The dolphin exhibit is the bomb! If you have kids that like getting wet, the splash zone is the front few rows down on the left... More

This was the first time I had been to the aquarium since I was a little girl (when the aquarium had just opened). My husband and I took our two young(2 & 5 yr old) children. The parking was easy and we purchased our tickets online for a few dollars less just minutes prior to our arrival. We were handed... More

I have been a member of the Texas State Aquarium for 8 years. Great place to take all ages. Food is good, love the Dolphin show, and many others. In the spring though summer Splash water park in open for the kiddos, they also have a large sandbox. They are now adding on to the aquarium, I believe they are adding... More

Love visiting here. Staff are very informative, knowledgable and passionate about their positions. A very hands on experience being able to touch starfish, sea urchin, sting rays and other species. Looking forward for construction to be completed. Will definitely go back.
