Seriously people. The National Park Service is worth every cent that goes towards it. The people are knowledgeable and the information is always well presented. Petersburg is a testiment to this. There is a driving tour of key sites and some great walks. Give it...More

We had a day and a half to relax and tour, the National Battlefield Park was excellent. Absolute musts are stopping at the visitor information centers first. Rangers are worth their weight in gold. Each stop was well cared for, with appropriate signage. Perhaps it...More

A nice place to visit for some Civil war history. Watch the film, take a walk, and do the driving tour. Learned alot here.

We stopped at the visitor center and watched a short video before driving the road to numbered sites. The terrain is covered now with grass, but the bumps and angles allow one to imagine how it was. Also the reconstructed version of the trench redoubt...More

I heard about running this. Most of it was on the road but it was a good 3.2 mile run to the gate so a good 10K out and back. Their are some long hills. Not steep but slow inclines and spread out enough to...More

There is much to see and to explore intros park. You can drive through but should stop at various locations to see the sites of battles and the Crater. Very interesting historic site.

Very interesting story. Crater is kind of filled in so not that impressive anymore. Enjoyable to do one time but probably wouldn't go back.

We had a brilliant couple of hours here. The visitor centre has an excellent film which explains the sequence of events and how the final stages of the war unfolded. There are some interesting artefacts and a fascinating day by day record of the siege...More

First expect to spend 2-3 hours here if you plan on wanting to see everything. The tour starts off at the visitor center, and I recommend checking out the film (20 mins) before you start your walking tour of the grounds. There are eight key...More

I'm not sure, however , I was there a couple of weeks ago and we virtually had the place to ourselves on a Sunday. Apparently this is their off season. No actors but plenty to do. There was also scheduled tours. Had we opted... More
