..what an experience..the windows come alive. if you get the right tour guide the historical knowledge creates an incredible backdrop for all that happened in Petersburg.

Opened by Thomas Jefferson's father and chock full of Tiffany Stained Glass windows, a tour of Blandford Church is a treat for any history buff. The cemetery is massive, and shockingly beautiful, and has veterans from literally every war the US has fought in. Go to any event they host to learn as much as you can about this fascinating... Sounds like an unusual place to visit - but the only place in the USA to see this many Tiffany stained glass windows that are historically without any competition!

Interesting cemetery with much civil war history, mainly Confederate soldiers. We came to visit some family graves. The person covering the desk didn't know much about the cemetery but was able to provide a map. An internet search accomplished the rest.

The Brick Church was erected in 1736 on Well's Hill, now known as Old Blandford Church located in Petersburg, Va. The original glass windows have been replaced with gorgeous stained glass. As a resident of this area most of my life it is an interesting site that once held a service once a month and in the past Christmas services... More

Petersburg's budget problems caused the closing of Blandford Church on October 21. Apparently budget constraints have also limited their ability to get the word out, so don't make this part of your planning without checking on it.

You need to arrange the Brandford Church visit at the welcome center, just in front . It's a guided visit, but you will get many detailed information about the church and the absolutely wonderful Tiffany's stained glass.

This museum has closed to the public until further notice as of Friday October 21, 2016 due to budget cuts. It is hoped that an outside organization will take over the operations in the near future.
