So wanted to see this! But we were in Petersburg in June 2017 and because the city is in a financial crisis, the tourism office is closed. Some attractions (Blandford Church) are being staffed by volunteers but so far this one is not.

I was so pleased to hear about this home. The guided tour was excellent. It is the home where they filmed PBS Mercy Street. There are even a few of the women's costumes. Unfortunately the are only open on Saturday and Sunday.

Petersburg is a historic town. That being said, my intention is to let everyone know just because there was a lot of history made here (in the mid 1800s) that doesn't mean it has been well preserved. This town is collapsing in on itself, financial...More

Tour guide very entertaining. Offered many stories. Very knowledgeable on history of property. House is in need of repairs. Currently all historical sites and museums closed in Petersburg due to city financial state
