Seemed all of the views in the Petrified forest were the same. Petrified logs. I'm glad I stopped and spent time absorbing them but they were all similar. An amazing area for sure.

The colours in the petrified wood and forest are beautiful. Its amazing to see and to learn how it is formed. A must see if you are nearby.

Driving tour with several short stops for brief hikes. Really stunning views! The park rangers were super friendly and there were several short hikes available for all ranges of fitness.

Costs $30 to get into the park but all the attractions are free. Good historic and science information. Loved seeing the petrified forest. Some good locations for some hiking through the forest.

We spent about 2 hours. We stayed on the roads rather than doing any trails, but took several turn offs. I agree about the binoculars (or a good telephoto lens). We couldn't really make out the petroglyphs with my moderate... More
