The inn is a museum now of the history of the place, but is worth a stop to go through the various rooms and get an idea of what it used to be. The views of the Painted Desert from or around the inn are...More

This is a great stop because you get to see the historic inn that is now a museum and learn about it. The views of the Painted Desert are great also. We enjoyed a picnic lunch at one of the tables and enjoyed the views.

This place must have been a hopping hot spot back in the day. The soda fountain bar and nook tables. The itty bitty rooms with sink or fireplace seem to suggest brothel, but no one is saying that.

Not much to see other than the building itself, which is interesting. Bought a silver and turquoise ring at the gift shop. Very friendly attendant.

Stooped at this Inn on our way round, stunning views of Painted desert around the back. The Inn was closed but there are restrooms here if you need them. Good Photo venue.

Such a great example of what structures and culture was like in the "good old days". Lots of signs to explain what things are and how they were. Crafts for sale inside and all of the views you can handle.

Really enjoyed our visit, both because of the unique Inn, and to meet the artisans displaying their wares there.

A stay at The Painted Desert Inn years ago must have been a wonderful experience. The view of the surrounding desert changed during the few hours we were there due to changes in the sun angle and clouds. Upon entering the small gift shop, we...More

The painted desert inn is basically a tourist site. I don’t think you can buy food there. The visitor centre has a sit down cafeteria area with some good local dishes and common items

Holbrook, AZ is closest town. Several good hotels and restaurants. About 20 minute drive as I recall. We stayed at the throwback Globetrotter hotel on old route 66. Dined at the Italian restaurant.
