I have lived in Albuquerque for 19 years and this is the best place in town to buy a myriad of Native American jewelry and pottery. It is a family run business that has worked hard in building a relationship with their artisans. Both the artist and the customer get a fair deal. There is no pressure and the workmanship... More

A famous shopping location, Maisel's is a huge family run store located on Central St. halfway between Old Town and the UNM campus. Jewelry, pottery, rugs, souvenirs....they have pretty much everything. They do know their artisans and can tell you about most of them as they stop in regularly with new items. So, it's an enjoyable place to shop and... More

When looking for native American jewelry we always go here first. Their prices are usually the best. We look at items we are interested in a get an evaluation of what individual pieces should cost. After shopping other stores, we always come back and buy something here.

This place was recommend to me by an Albuquerque resident who comes here to buy authentic jewelry and crafts from local artisans. Selection is astounding and the staff knows about the artisans. I enjoyed hearing about the artists while I was being shown the pieces. Nice combo of fine jewelry and local souvenirs. Make this a stop on your visit... More

You have to stop at Skip Maisel's in Albuquerque. The staff is very helpful at this family owned authentic Native American jewelry, blanket and more! You need to take your time looking at all of the beautiful crafted items. You will be amazed. If you can not find street parking there is a large parking lot just around the corner... More

This is an amazing place to buy authentic Native American wares. Over the years we have accumulated a few pieces for family and friends. Everything is reasonably priced and always discounted. This is also a central location for other store fronts and very close to Old town.

The environment of the store was quiet, pleasant. Customers included tourists, such as we were, and locals who said they had traded there for years They had kachinas from the inexpensive souvenir stop type to absolutely magnificent works of art Jewelry choices also ranged from souvenir quality and price to works of art, investment pieces, estate jewelry, etc. I purchased... Lots of Native American pottery and jewelry. I did find a couple of pieces of pottery and the clerk packaged them extremely well for my return travel home. Staff was friendly and helpful. In some ways the store felt like a warehouse with several pieces of the same style of pottery for sale. The pottery was 50% off, which seemed... More

I originally went to purchase a dream catcher for a friend, then I spotted the jewelry. I found a turquoise and silver necklace and had to have it. Betty helped me and she is amazing giving me the history of the store. Their prices are fantastic and can't be beat. I highly recommend going to skip my cell when you... More

Located on Central Street between 5th and 6th-this is where you should stop first to buy authentic Native American items. All the staff I met were very knowledgeable in the native jewelry and crafts. They will provide you with each piece of jewelry's artist information and the mine the stone came from. I appreciated learning about the history of the... More
