While we were hiking the Circle Trail, we saw cloth offerings tied to trees and small piles of sage or tobacco along the way. These represent the modern-day prayers of an Indian person and are not to be disturbed. The trail gives a good overview...More

This is a very easy hike for all ages. About 1/3 of it is in shade. The rock formations are fantastic. The creek views are tremendous. The view of the falls is super.

The Circle Trail is the main attraction at the Pipestone National Monument. You also have history, gift shop and on-site Pipestone carvers. But the self-guided tour on the trail is the best in my opinion. It gives you an idea of what life may have...More

This is a very short 3/4 mile asphalt trail that takes you past the quarries, the Falls and beautiful granite cliffs. Be sure to take the free trail guide from the visitor's center that you return when finished. It is very helpful and makes your...More

This walk passes several natural attractions, is paved, and takes less than an hour to complete. We had the trail mostly to ourselves. The waterfall was my favorite part!
