A trip to the redwoods.

I live around here. If you want to get close and personal to the redwoods. Holland Hill Road is the place to go. It's a little bit off the beaten path but well worth it to beauty.

What a beautiful drive!!!! Follow the signs from Highway 199 (Crescent City to Grants Pass). The signs will direct you to Stout Grove, which is just one stop on this amazing drive. The road was muddy, but I had a Jeep so no problem. Several absolutely gorgeous places to stop and photograph. Loved the blooming wildflowers and undergrowth below the... More

Wow!! The trees on this drive are amazing! There are also plenty of hiking trails off this road. Not hardly anyone else on the road so stopping to take pictures was easy and done every few minutes!! We started at Jedediah Campground so we drove the 50 minute 10 mile drive and at the finish there is a nice little... More

This drive is THE DRIVE my Daddy took my family on, MANY times throughout my childhood. I am a native Los Angelino, California and THIS is where we would come on vacation. You can stop and park anywhere. The sound of silence is amazing.

Drove this road in mid-September. It was very dry & dusty. Had no problem with our full size rental car. The road was narrow in places, but there is plenty of pull-off spots. Any oncomming traffic was courteous & patient. Either they or us would pull over for passing. I'd be concerned if the weather was very wet. No serious... More

We traveled up the coast of California from San Francisco, and a major objective of ours was to see the biggest of the big Redwoods/Sequoias. We were told that Jedediah Smith State Park (just south of the Oregon border) was beautiful. In fact, it exceeded that description, and we walked through a couple of different groves of Redwoods in this... More

Even with the construction, this drive was worth every second! The redwoods are just amazing. We took the short Stout Trail but it looked like any trail would be beautiful! What a way to start our visit to the park!

Feels like a trip back to a different time. There is an eary light the permeates this old growth forest and its unique to be able to experience this from your car. The hikes and paths right off the road are worth it as well.
