Beautiful grounds to tour, including free exhibits in addition to the main house tour that is available for a fee. Walk the trail down to Oyster Bay, through the woods from the lower house. A real jewel of a National Park.

Visiting this beautiful location, in my view, is the ultimate way to get to know TR, his life and times. Each room has his unique character woven into it. It is a memorial to a great American citizen, and outstanding presidency. Happy trails.

We were there on a Monday; it was closed but that was fine. We were able to walk through the grounds; rock on the porch and enjoy each others' company. We enjoyed our time here, by ourselves it was so relaxing.

Didn't have the time to tour the house or visit the museum, but we were able to walk the grounds on a cold and rainy autumn afternoon carrying umbrellas and not get our feet wet. I'd love to revisit this site on a better day...More

My partner is a big Roosevelt family fan and we decided to visit Sagamore Hill on our holiday in New York after enjoying a visit to FDRs house in Hyde Park last year. We pre-booked as house tours are limited numbers at specific times. Our...More

Take warning - BUY your tickets online! So many don't and face being turned away due to house tour limitations on group numbers and times. Lovely and serene, this old farmland houses a Queen Anne style home that clearly was a sanctuary for Teddy and...More

The Theodore Roosevelt Memorial Park is a beautiful lush park with history. Theodore Roosevelt conducted Presidential business in this Long Island home. It is beautiful and definitely worth taking the time for the tour.

We did not do the house tour as no tickets were left but we enjoyed wandering the grounds and taking photos.

I had been here many times as a child growing up on Long Island. I learn something new every time I come. Teddy's home is taken care of wonderfully. The volunteers were great. Our guide, I believe her name was Natasha was very informative and...More

This place is fantastic. If you don't feel like the hassle of a crowded beach and traffic on a summer weekend, come to this lovely park. There's a small beach on the Long Island Sound where you can see the boats on the water and...More

We took so many pictures and no one ever said we needed a permit. We even sat and enjoyed ourselves on the porch without anyone asking us to leave. It was an enjoyable time. Have fun!!

I'm not sure, but I can't see why not....Of course, the house and museum would not be canine friendly. But you can always call the property....but I am sure that we saw dogs walking in the park.
