We drove through the park on the way to the desert museum, then on the way back to town around the mountain. It's very beautiful, and the cacti and terrain form a nice landscape in just about every direction. We found ourselves stopping frequently in...More

Driving out to the Tucson Mountains, is what we all called it as boys growing up in Tucson in the 60's, is a must see. We just got back from Tucson June 2016 and on our checklist was Old Tucson and the Tucson Mountains. This...More

If you love the desert beauty and hiking and beautiful sunsets and saguaros --- you'll want to see the place. It's very special. Bring a hat and water. It gets very hot.

The driver through the park is how visitors envision Arizona. This is where you go to see saguaros. On the way to other attractions like Old Tucson.

We stayed at the JW Marriott Star Pass Resort - just across the street from a couple of trails into this park. It's beautiful, with nice trails.

We camped at the Gilbert Ray Campground for 3 nights. It's nicely situated, has clean bathrooms, and amazing views. It is also very close to things like Saguaro National Park, Sonoran-Arizona Desert Museum, and Old Tucson Studios.

We were staying on the west side of the park and did a lot of visiting on the east side, and we used Gates Pass instead of the "more direct" roads every time. You can't beat that view! Not ideal for those who don't like...More
