This small museum was a very pleasant surprise. It had so much more then I was expecting. They have uniforms and items dating back to the civil war through WWII. And almost all of their items are real and not reproductions or restored. I was...More

After reading the somewhat mixed reviews on TripAdvisor, we just had to check this place out. What a good idea! We arrived before the posted opening time of 11am because we had some time to kill, and the owners pulled up at 10:30, noticed us...More

We stopped here while waiting to get into a local restaurant, and didn't know what to expect. This museum is amazing! The docents are very informative and could have chatted forever-truly. We will go back because we literally ran out of time. You can go...More

There is a lot of history to explore regarding horses. We had the museum to ourselves so we were able to take our time. Most exhibits are self explanatory but a couple informational signs would help.More

I understand your sentiment, fortunately the woman who was your tour guide that day was able to answer any questions. I wish you had mentioned in your review that for no extra charge, the museum has tour guides available. You yourself had one. This is...More

This gem of a small museum does not seem that well known, and that is a genuine shame. If you are interested in military history, the history of the domesticated horse or like Americana, this is a worthwhile find. Clearly created out of a love...More

We were the only people there at the time and Erin gave us a :private: tour. She answered all our questions and made the exhibits even more interesting.

First, the admission price to visit the museum is most affordable (under $4.00) and you will get a lot of history, films and displays for your money. Museum is exceptionally well maintained and staff is extremely knowledgeable. Civil War and western frontier displays give the...More

Some very interesting and eclectic exhibits about the Horse Soldiers and Marines. Docent was very excited about the subject and knew her stuff. Looks small but is packed with interesting artifacts presented in a compelling way.

Excellent collection of WW-I Uniforms and medical equipment. I wouldn't make a long trip to visit this place, but if in the area it's worth the visit.

Thank you for your interest. We do not have any art by Remington or Russell. The few bronze works we have were done by Dan Bates. We are a history museum and most of our collection is made of 3 dimensional items reflecting... More
