Beautiful drive

Long, slow drive but totally worth it. It's amazing to witness how much the vegetation and climate change.

It takes about 1 1/2 hours to go up, less time to come down. Watch for bicyclists who must have super human stamina. Lots of switchbacks and many places to pull over to see the scenery. There are restaurants on top- we ate at the Iron Door. Meal was abit on the pricey side for the type of restaurant it... More

Mt Lemmon is the highest point in the Santa Catalina Mountains. It is located in the Coronado National Forest north of Tucson, Arizona, United States. Mount Lemmon was named for botanist Sara Plummer Lemmon, who trekked to the top of the mountain with her husband and E. O. Stratton, a local rancher, by horse and foot in 1881. Summerhaven is... Living in Tucson, it has to be one of my favorite spots. A beautiful place to experience all 4 seasons. Highly recommend! FYI: If you bring your pets, don't forget a leash.

We drove up and stopped at all the stops on the way down. Walked around. Very beautiful peaceful drive. Takes over an hr to drive up. It's just a great place to connect with nature

This was a beautiful drive into the mountains, lovely and quiet with All the cactus along the road. There is a village where you can have a drink

Really enjoyed our drive on the byway. Beautiful scenery. Plenty of areas to stop for photos. Many hiking trails. Lots of places to pull over on the road to let others pass if they are in a hurry. Probably crowded on the weekends and especially summer or after snowfall. Highly recommended.

Mt. Lemmon is so beautiful. On the East side of Tucson and on a hot day in less than an hour it's 30* cooler! My favorite hike is Aspen loop because you get it all! Aspen trees, tall pines, and the views are breathtaking. Take a ride in the summer on the ski lift and your at 10,000 feet! It's... More

What a drive drive up to 9100' altitude. We went to top to eat lunch at Ski Lemmon summit. Had great lunch at Iron Door. Awesome selection of homemade breads, desserts and entrees. The corn bread is fantastic. They serve beer and wine but no hard liquor. The drive up to the summit has many pullovers to take pictures- the... More
