35 years after moving to AZ I finally drove to the top of Mt Lemmon...WOW what an experience. from the lower climb to the top the environment changes drastically. Saguaros abound at the 4000 ft level to the majestic Ponderosa pines at the over 8000 ft level. Twisty and turny is the road, but there is so much awesome scenery... More

This is a must-see! Gorgeous views and mesmerizing sunset. The temperature change from bottom to the top was amazing. Started at 70 at the bottom, 53 in the middle and had to put the top up on the convertible, to the coldest at the top with snow and 41 degrees at an elevation of 8,000 ft. You could actually feel... We visited this place during the summer, the roads was well maintained and the view was great but unfortunately the summit was closed, facilities was average we expected more stores and activities but differently we enjoyed the ride

The change in elevation as you drive up the mountain offers a variety of sights, from desert landscape with a myriad of cactus to mountain top evergreen trees. It is well worth the drive.

This is such a nice ride with amazing views. There are many scenic pull offs for picture taking and just taking in the views. Just make sure to bring a sweatshirt...the temperature drops quite a bit from the Tucson temperature!

Great drive but not for the faint of heart. I got altitude sick, but in all I would do it again. My son and wife loved the drive up the mountain. There is trout fishing and skiing in the winter. Several trails and lots of camping. I would love to come back and stay several days to explore the area.

Hiking level for all, the lookout point with rocks is awesome! The top has a ski lift and restaurant! Worth the drive, there is also camp grounds at different locations on your way up.

It's a 29 mile up the mountain to arrive at the top. It's a slow ride, but beautiful. The temp was 100 when we started our incline, and 65 when we hit the top. There isn't a lot to do up there, unless you like to hike, but there is a couple of restaurants and a country store that had amazing... More

Let's face it. Tucson is HOT. Yes, it is a 'dry heat," but so is a pizza oven. However, one of the aspects of Tucson that makes it so much better is that you can get away and go to Mt. Lemmon for a picnic or camping. The drive is beautiful, and it is at least 20 to 30 degrees... More
