Trailhead: In Tucson, starting at the intersection of Speedway and Wilmot, follow Wilmot North. Wilmot Road turns into Tanque Verde at Pima Road. Follow Tanque Verde to Sabino Canyon Road. Turn left on Sabino Canyon Road and follow for 3.7 miles to Kolb Road. Turn left on Kolb and follow until you reach the Lowe's Ventana Canyon Resort. Enter the resort and look for the employee parking lot and a sign for the trailhead. There is a small parking lot near the trailhead. (Lat:32.32928 Lon:-110.85656)

Been here twice, once early just after sunrise and just before sunset. Saw a multitude of wild life.....mule deer, bobcat and mountain lion. NO threat to us during hikes. The views are unbelievable. Well worth your time and drive to get here. Just remember to...More

I was looking for a 2-3 hour hike near Tucson because I had a short window for hiking. Ventana was quick and easy to get to on the North side of town in Loews Ventana Canyon Resort. The hike can be as short or long...More

Don't go when it's hot, though! A big part of the trail before you reach "Maiden pools" has no shade. It's also step-like and rocky part of the way something to keep in mind if you have knee problems. (The first mile or so is...More

Easy access by Loews Ventana Canyon resort. There is good parking available. The trail would be classified as difficult by the US Park Service. It is beautiful but requires climbing over some mid size boulders. The further you go on the trail the steeper it...More

The first couple miles are relatively flat and there will be water most winter days. If you have time, take the short drive to Sabino Canyon where you will have more choices.

This is our favorite canyon to walk--the weather was so beautiful and they keep the park pristine--the only negative i have is that the bathrooms were really really awful--will you be sprucing these up soon--please

There is often water in late winter, with several crossings, and much of it is at least a little shady. Very pleasant...

Don't look up when hiking here unless you're stopped. Lots of challenging maneuvers required over small streams. Worth the hike for sure.

This is a great walk, but the trail is not well maintained. You certainly need sticks if you're going very far up the trail (I'd say more than a mile or so) and be careful. Having said that, it's a beautiful saguaro forest, some great...More

We started at 7:30 a.m. and made our way through the canyon. A little chilly at first but the sun warmed us up once we started hiking up the mountain. We went probably 2.5 miles in and then turned back! It was beautiful. Moderately strenuous.
