Open during daylight hours, it's worth walking thru. Although, you'd be much better served to take a tour that includes a stop here, or do a self-guided tour after reading up on it's history. Interesting ancient trees growing in the graveyard and quite a few...More

Graves of old and very young date to the 1600s. Freely walk among the grave sites and note the style and years. Very interesting to wonder about the people and their life. It is right next to the Salem Witch Trial Memorial.

This cemetary is in the middle of town which I found neat and odd. It is full of old graves. Its very small so you can easily see everyones grave you want to see. There is a mayflower pilgram buried there. This is also right...More

Glad we took the walk to visit the grounds but thought that there would have been more information available to the public. Maybe not a realistic expectation but I would have loved to know more about its history, how it's maintained today, and the like....More

One of the few things we enjoyed in Salem. My sister and I went early in the morning. There was a light drizzle and cloudy so it gave the cemetery an eerie feeling. More then that of just being in a cemetery in the early...More

Beautiful, historic, and necessary when traveling to Salem. Large oak trees that add strength and vitality to the setting. Judge Hathorne's grave us a place to reflect on how power can be dangerous and how mercy and acceptance are keys to humanity's survival.

Lots of old stones. We were told on the tour that there are mostly old stones there, bodies of the judges are there but not the others. They think families of the accused took the bodies and buried them in unknown family plots, none got...More

If you know anything of the history of the Salem Witch Trials, you have to stop and see this. It's not a focal point of Salem, so you actually have to look for it a bit, but it's worth it. If you don't know a...More

This cemetery holds a lot of history. We spent quite a bit of time wandering around looking at various gravestones and wondering about the lives of the people buried there. Definitely a spot that needs to be seen if you are touring Salem.

Wife and I were staying in Salem and took a trip over. Kinda disappointed. We walked along the tombstones reading and admiring the history. But... in the background They are doing loud construction with huge cranes. The surrounding area does not lend itself to the...More

There is really no need to book a tour to see the Old Burying Point Cemetery, and there is a very useful map/chart at one end (check the photo I attached to my review). And do not miss the small memorial area for the Salem... More

Free to stroll through (lots of the spooky tours in the area stop by here and talk about the graves if you wanted to pay for that experience).

The town of Salem public parking garage - high rise type - is a real deal - 25 cents per hour - and it is close by most of what you want to see in the area, including the cemetery. So, rather than trying to find free parking... More
