Easy access, plenty of free parking and a lovely boat ride to Boston make this a worthwhile endeavor. Great views of the coastline as you make the journey.

The ferry ride ended up being one of the most memorable parts of my trip to Salem. We really enjoyed the fresh air and views from the ship as well as the commentary provided by the crew. The bar on board was great for drinks...More

The ferry was on time and the onboard commentary at the start of the trip was informative. The ferry to Salem was fairly quiet however the return ferry was packed and very loud. It was an enjoyable journey. When I’m paying $45 for the journey...More

We always take the Salem Ferry in the summer. Great way to get there and back without the hassle of parking. I would recommend all Boston Harbor Cruises as they are all great with wonderful staff.

Why take the train, or take your chances with a Lyft or Uber driver on the freeway or 1A, when the ferry and their professional crew can bypass all that? We've taken the ferry several times between Boston and Salem, and have enjoyed the trip...More

We booked the boat a few days in advance. Long Wharf can be a little difficult to find. As you are standing on the street side sidewalk looking at the Marriott Long Wharf, go to the LEFT side of the hotel and that is where...More

Yes, it's more expensive than the train, but we took the ferry into Boston one morning and it was a nice, relaxing ride right into the harbor and steps from where we wanted to start walking the Freedom Trail.

We loved getting to ride through the swells and learn some history on our way to and from Salem. It was awesome to avoid traffic and have an inside place to stay and use the restroom. Highly rec.

Yes, but there would be no realistic opportunity to store your luggage on the ship while you're exploring the area. The ferry has a pretty tight schedule doing round-trips between Salem and Boston all day.

I don't think that's necessary. The ferry seems to run on a very tight schedule and isn't even there until about 10 minutes before departure. Then they have to disembark. I doubt they would give your seats away and also... More

Good Evening, When we took the ferry the seats were not assigned. Perhaps the reason for the early arrival is to help ensure you get the time you want?? The area around the gate is filled with many interesting and fun... More
