This tour was the highlight of our visit in San Antonio. Our charismatic guide Randy was the best tour guide I have ever experienced. He was fun, informative and just downright cool! His stories about the Steves family made the house come to life. We left feeling happy and very glad we had visited. I highly recommend taking this step... More

We took the self-guided tour of this wonderful old house at the edge of the King William Historic Disrict and overlooking the San Antonio River. The tour is $7 for adults with discounts for Seniors and Military. The attendee is given a guide book with interesting tidbits about the house, rooms, and furnishings. The house is beautifully restored, and has... More

Our tour guide was great. I'm not sure if you would have the same experience with another guide, but since we were the only people there at the time he showed us the third floor which isn't restored but had some nice views of the garden and antique furniture which is stored up there. The rest of the house is... More

It's not just another old house, the tour guide goes into great details of the family as if he knew them personally. Their talents, business, generosity to the community Loved not only the information but the pace of the tour and freedom to touch, sit, explore. Also loved the grounds and the entire neighborhood. Educational and just a pure delight.

The historic King William neighborhood of San Antonio is filled with three-story mansions built in the 1800s by prosperous German businessmen. We recommend a stop to tour the Steves Homestead House Museum. The home, located on the banks of the San Antonio River, was built in 1876 by Edward Steves, founder of the Steves Lumber Company, a family-owned company that... More

When walking through the King William Historic District we came to this museum. So glad we did! It was beautiful inside with some very unique features -- such as a wall calendar in the style of a clock, beautiful hand painting on the ceilings and walls, and a beautiful pocket door between the parlor and dining area. We took the... More

Self guided tour for $7.50. Got a good feel for the time period that the Steves occupied the home. Interesting architectural details inside the house. I stopped here as part of my self guided walking tour of the King William neighborhood. I picked the map up at the Anton Wulff house (107 King William St.), home of the SA Conservation... More

We came across this beautiful home/museum while eploring the historical district. It was on the walking map and I have to say that it was outstanding ... literally. The size was impressive & the grounds well maintained.

This historic home on King William Street is definitely a must see! The self-guided tour is so interesting, and is one of the only historical home tours we've taken that actually has a few things on the tour that you can actually touch and experience for yourself. Since the home never really had to be "restored," it retains so much... More

As these things go the home was a little disappointing compared to others we have seen on our travels. The self guided tour is $7.50 and comes with a little loose leaf book. There are not too many artifacts on display and had a cold, relatively sterile atmosphere. Worth the visit but not a must see in my opinion.
