The Spirit of Healing Mural is an eight-story high angel watching over the Christus Santa Rosa Children's Hospital. This angel is part of a ginormous mosaic, reputed to be the largest mosaic of its kind (religious mosaic) in the USA. The mosaic is composed of 2,000 pieces of tile of 70 different colors placed together to create a 93 feet... More

Worth looking for on a drive through San Antonio. It is downtown, no easy parking, and looked like a rough neighborhood to us, so we looked and kept driving.

Worth a stop, but I would not drive way out of my way too see. It is very pretty. There is a park across the street that would make a nice place to picnic. Beware it is downtown so a certain demographic of people wanders in that area. Good place to get out, take a couple pictures, and keep trucking.

This is so beautiful it took my breath away. And, it's painted on the building of a children's hospital. That makes it even more beautiful.

The mural can be seen from the interstate and is very refreshing to see downtown. It stands out and makes you wonder what it is and why it is there.

Very beautiful mural. There is a really nice looking playground there as well. Nice to have such a beautiful hospital for children in this city. This is very close to Market Square (the Mexican Market), and just a few easy walking blocks to San Fernando Cathedral and the Spanish Governor's Palace. Just FYI some people may not be comfortable walking... More

An 80 foot mural on the front facade of the Christus Santa Rosa Children's Hospital. Done by local artist Jesse Trevino and numerous volunteers. When young Jesse Trevino saw a tombstone with an angel with a broken wing, at that time he vowed to one day make a suitable tribute of such. The child in the mural is his son.... More
