It is one of the better theatres to see any kind of show in. It is a gorgeous setting as you can see in the picture above. I suggest sitting in the mezzanine section since many concerts on the floor you have to stand up....More
If you are planning a visit to San Antonio, Texas, you should definitely set aside an evening to attend an event at the Magestic Theatre. The historic theatre hosts a variety of events. My husband and I return over and over again for plays and...More
I’m a theater buff and I must admit this is the most beautiful theater I have been to in my life. The ceiling is a sky with stars... it transforms your experience to feel that you are outside. Just love this place!
The theatre is a historical building beautifully preserved. We have been coming to the Majestic individually since we were young and as a couple since we started dating. It’s a gorgeous environment to see a play, ballet or comedy routine. Plus , it’s downtown close...More

Public behind the scene tours of the theatre are available on the occasional Mondays or Thursdays (and other days) at various times, either 10:30 am or 5 pm and 6 pm. There may be other days and times available. Tour days and times can be found on their web site. Search for "majesticempire" to find the theatre's web site. Look for a site listing itself as the "official site" to avoid ticket resale outlets. Their telephone number is 210-226-5700. The box office telephone is 210-226-3333. It may be best to call. I can't figure out the system to identify which days the tours are available.
They call the public tours "happy hour tours".
You must buy a ticket for $25 a person however. You must be able to climb stairs while on the tour.
