We came to watch the graduating ceremonies for our son. It was an excellent event to see over seven hundred of our sons and daughters move on to protect our country. The Air Force trainers took good care of these young airmen. Very professional and we'll organized

Our daughter recently graduated from Air Force BMT at Lackland and the 4 days of activities were extremely well done and focus on both the Airman's achievements and the close support of their families and friends. If you have the extreme fortune of being able to visit this base for either BMT or Tech School graduation make sure you grab... More

Billeting is difficult to get unless you're on Orders...then sometimes they have to move you to Kelly (next door). Great airpark- best in the AF. Try to avoid Thurs and Friday if possible- this is graduation for BMT (Basic Military Training), so families are everywhere. Several locations for BX (both sides of base) and several Shoppettes.

Even though it rained, families got to see their loved ones graduate from Air Force Basic Training in a sheltered area. We were able to tour the dorms and the dining room. It was an awesome opportunity to see the start of an Airman's military life.

I come to Lackland AFB frequently for work and have been here many, many times. Always neat to see the the new recruits and their families on Thursdays and Fridays during graduation. I tip my hat to all that serve. The US Military is First Class! Thank-you to all that have served, are serving and who are going to serve.... More

This is a great American air force base! I've had many friends rotate through this base with only good things to say!

Great to be able to see the Air Force Base in action. Full of bustle and life, it was a great experience. I see they are adding new buildings. Seems they need to keep at this as some are still quite old, and with the amount of families they draw in every weekend they need more building space to house... More

We were here for our grand-daughter graduation from boot camp. If you are going to the graduation, take a lot of water as there is no shade and people were passing out left and right.

We were recently here for our son's BMT graduation. I poured through this site before our trip looking for tips and thought I'd share some of our own now that we've been there. We stayed off base at the Best Western Atrea. It was a nice place, included a free breakfast buffet every morning, had a mini fridge in the... More

There for my daughters BasicTraining Graduation. Things sure have changed since I graduated 22 years ago! Easy access to base with passes from my daughter. Excellent eating places on base. If you have a graduate and cant leave base, go hang out at the community center next to the bowling alley. While to bowling alley and BX was packed full... More
