About
Natural Bridge Caverns is one of Texas’ largest underground attractions that is best explored on a guided tour. The Discovery Tour takes you through the most spectacular part of the caverns 180 feet underground, whilst the Hidden Passages tour shows you a system of huge underground chambers—or experience both on a combo tour. Otherwise, navigate the outdoor Twisted Trails rope course, find your way out of the AMAZEn’ Ranch Roundup maze, and pan for fossils at the Mining Company. Don’t miss the festivities during the holidays, which include the light-ups and a cozy campfire. For additional discounts, book your tickets online in advance. – Tripadvisor

    Fantastic Caverns
This is 30 minutes away from San Antonio and a great 1/2 day trip excursion. It is very reasonably priced, the grounds are beautiful and the caverns are amazing! If you do this, get the double ticket to Discover and find the Hidden Treasures

    Caverns were a nice surprise!
We decided to give the Natural Bridge Caverns a try while in the San Antonio area in February 2023. We were expecting a full on tourist trap, but were actually pleasantly surprised with our cavern tour. The billboard are obnoxious and even as you drive up to the caverns and are met with a fork between caverns and an animal park, we were still thinking tourist trap. Then we got to the massive parking lot, again we were thinking tourist trap. We bought our ticket and were able to jump on a tour that was leaving in 5 minutes. After we got into the cavern and past the obligatory tourist trap photo, we were wowed! The tour was fantastic! The caverns were amazing! There was so much to take in. The explanations from our guide were great and the pace of the tour was just right. The cavern tour lasted an hour. There is a zipline/climbing structure thing...which I think if you had children along I'm not sure how you could get out of there without paying for that as well - haha! The cave tour was just enough for us two adults. Just know that the caverns are warm around 75 degrees and humid. You will walk through some puddles of water and likely will get dripped on from the cave as well, so don't wear your favorite shoes and outfit.

    Awe struck !!!
The caverns tour was awesome. The artistic work of nature in abundance. Tips for new visitors, be prepared to walk and climb. Climb like a 14 story building. You will et to drink natural water in the purest form.

    GREAT TOUR!
Had a great time! We are a family of mid 20 year olds with a 6 year old kid. We went on the Discovery Tour which is about an hour and a 3/4 mile walk. There are some very steep uphill parts and it is very hot in the cavern, so be sure to wear shorts and a tshirt. You don’t have to be in amazing shape to do this tour, but I wouldn’t suggest it if you have any leg problems… however, I think the hidden passages tour is a much shorter distance. Also, keep in mind the discovery tour is not the best for super tall people. We are around 5’5” and were about the perfect height to get through the cavern with no problems. The staff was very friendly and actually seemed like they enjoyed their job. They were very informative on the caverns. Would love to come back again someday and take the hidden passages tour!

    Worth it!
Just want to confirm that this is an amazing cave and very worth the price. I did it in Birkenstocks and was fine, but the trail is wet and I definitely watched my step along the way. It does have a big climb at one point and because of the humidity in the cave- it does get you sweaty. (I’m from Colorado and in good shape from hikes and this still got me a smidge winded) But you can take it at your own speed. Went with my teenager and a 7 year old on the Discovery. It was good stuff.

    Fun for the family
We used one of our SA city pass basic attractions to do the cavern tour. It was over a mile walk, as times in tight or steep areas and others in massive underground cave rooms. Definitely an amazing learning experience. The venue has lots of other things to do, so definitely check it out. Lots of parking.

    Impressive and fun caverns
This impressive, awe-inspiring cavern is the product of millennia of natural processes and is a fabulous visit. We took the regular tour and were really impressed with both our knowledgeable tour guide and with the obvious care that is shown for this space. There's a different geological formation to see at every turn, and our tour guide had an explanation for each sight. We wore sturdy walking shoes and were fine - our tour guide walked at an easy pace so that everyone could keep up while still being careful at slippery spots. This is an all-walking tour and isn't really accessible for people with limited mobility, so I'd recommend calling if you have any questions about accessibility. We'll definitely come back for the Hidden Tours version.

    Interesting and different
The caverns themselves are amazing thus the five stars. The staff and tour guides are good but not exceptional. Everything appeared to be quite scripted with very little ad libbing permitted. The climb out of either cavern is a bit of a hike so be prepared but we’ll worth the time invested.

Amazing natural caves and entertaining ropes course
This was a great (albeit pricey) afternoon with the family. The standard cave tour was plenty for us. Guide was upbeat and kept things moving. The history and presentation is really well put together. Truly a unique experience! We came back and did the maze/ropes course with the kids another day. Again, not cheap, but it is well maintained and a fun activity.

    Very informative tour guide
Warm in the caverns. Didn’t expect that. Very informative tour guide. Beautiful caverns. A workout. Not good for elderly folks out of shape. They give a military discount which was nice. Great gift shop. Enjoyed some Dip n Dots.

Visiting the area from Washington state, and I was told we had to check out the caves. The history and the information on how everything was formed was amazing. I loved hearing about the different rock formations and how they all got their different color and look. I loved hearing our guide Noah talk about his favorite formation the porcupine Halicite (sp). Thanks Noah for our awesome private group tour. Do yourself a favor and check it out!

If you are in the area, this is a must see. We took both cavern tours. Both were excellent. Guides were very knowledgeable about the caverns and the area. Great formations. Pictures on the website don’t do it justice. You have to see in person.

The adventure tours are amazing! We had previously done both the regular tours and decided to try the adventure ones. They are longer and more physical, but well worth the effort and money. Our guide, Kiana, was fantastic. Tyler was in tour guide training and was also very nice and knowledgeable. We loved both tours. The discovery adventure tour was more muddy and physically challenging, but awesome. Kiana was impressive with her instructions on how to navigate the obstacles within the caves, plus she can answer any question on the caves.

I can't believe I lived in Texas nearly 20 years before making this trip! We did both the Discovery Tour and the Hidden Wonders Tour. Both were excellent and our guides were interesting and well informed. My 9 year old was engaged throughout the entire first tour and much of the second. While 2 tours made the day a little long for him, I don't think I would have wanted to miss either one. A great experience and I hope to go back!
The only less than stellar part of the day was the Cafe, it was pretty much exactly what I expected so it wasn't really a disappointment. It just seems they're missing an opportunity by not having a great restaurant on site. Next time we'll pack something or stop on the way which time didn't allow for this visit.

It is so much fun, for all ages. The cave is well lit and tour guide was excellent. I did the basic “discovery” tour, and it was amazing. And it is not just cave, but there is cool zip lining tower that I definitely want to come back for, if an adult is allowed. I did not see any bats. I recommend wearing comfortable and non-slippery shoes. Ground/walkaway is very clean and nice sized parking.

This is a must visit..Nature’s wonder. Great staff, well guided tours. Wear comfortable sneakers preferably as there is enough walking involved over steep terrains. Did not experience any slippery probably because the environment is well maintained

Very good place to visit if you are a nature enthusiast as an adult. Kids are going to love it, not just the caverns but the spiral activity just outside the caverns but within the campus. I took the combo tour for my family, incl. 2 kids.

I would suggest to take the Hidden Wonders tour first and then, go for Discovery tour as the latter is strenuous (need a a lot of walking up the ramp towards the end). The hidden wonders tour has a BAT (batter assisted walk) that will take you to it's exit, I wonder why Discovery tour does not have BAT. The Discovery tour has more scenic spots but the hidden wonders tour has a light show!

A good day to spend and eat around if you take the combo tour. A genuine tip: there is a Wildlife ranch also besides the caverns, so if you take one of the two caverns tour and combine with the wildlife ranch tour, it will be an awesome day I believe (I did not know about the wildlife ranch till I visited the caverns :( , so it's the best tip I can give you :)

Go and have a blast, book tickets in advance online, will save you 6-7 $ per ticket.

Beautiful caverns. You are walking on steep inclines down 187 feet, then back up, be prepared. Plus it’s slick, but they have handrails. No issues on our tour. I would suggest to bring a bottled water with you, I may still be in the cave if I didn’t.

I've been to lots of caverns and this was among the best. I'd never been in a cavern with warm temperature of 70 degrees before. Usually caverns are in the 40s. The lighting inside and well marked trails with handrails to assist on the uphill and downhill sections made touring much easier. There is an elevator that takes you to the lowest level and then you gradually climb back out. The formations were spectacular and I had never seen a "curtain" before. The outside area has playground, picnic area, and fun selfie attractions for photos. Very enjoyable.
