Absolutely cool. It was alittle drive and small. But the history and antiques inside were worth the drive. The staff member was awesome. She explained everything and answered all questions. I only was sad they were remodeling and not everything was viewable. GO HERE

When I visited the Old Time Wooden Nickel Company the museum was closed, but I went inside and looked around anyway. One of the employees was kind enough to to turn on the lights in the Nickel Vault so I could take some pictures. It was a pretty cool little place, and it will be even better when they finish... I was really excited to visit this 'off-the-beaten-path' point of interest. When I arrived I was extremely disappointed that it was closed for remodeling. I had been checking Trip Advisor periodically for new places to check out, while I was in San Antonio. I feel it would be good business practice to post that it was closed for remodeling. Based... A tiny little hole in the wall, completely worth a visit. It won't take more than a half hour to go through, so don't budget this as a complete days outing. The staff was kind and generous. They even make wooden nickels with saucy sayings! You can purchase personalized wooden nickels in batches as small as 50.

Hours on the door said museum was open Monday through Friday 10 am to 5 pm. We showed up around 11am and the doors were locked. No sign saying why or when they would be open, so this stop was a waste of time...

We’re really sorry we missed you! We are still in business but, unfortunately, you stopped by while we were closed for the holidays. We would love for you to stop back by if you’re still in town, or the next time you visit San Antonio, and give us a chance to make it up to you. We are also open... More

This place is a running printing company and the museum inside is open during regular business hours through the week.We enjoyed a quick stop to see the vault and ended up buying a HUGE wooden nickel from the gift shop area. The wooden nickel outside is pretty cool, it has buffalo statues near it which adds to the ambience. We... More

We pulled up to the building to find no evidence of the store being open any more. The signs on the door that were once the name of the business and the hours, had been painted over with white paint. Equipment used to make wooden nickels could be seen inside one of the buildings. There was no other information posted.... More

We drove around for hours trying to find this place. Once we finally found it we were greeted by super friendly staff who went out of their way to make us feel welcome and make up from the hours of driving around. I came home with some really cool personalised wooden nickles. Thanks so much ladies!!

The staff was nice enough and stayed out of your way as you looked around the small museum. I'm sure my grandpa would have loved looking at the old Wooden Nickels since he's the one who first introduced them to me. Was an out of the way drive and not worth going to if it were not in the same... More

We decided to visit to see the home of the wooden nickel. We began our visit in the wooden nickel museum there, which is really more than wooden nicklel memorabilia. Along with hundreds of wooden nickles and collectables, we found something that I really did not expect, but like. A player piano - which was really more of a player... More
