Eat, drink, sight see, purchase souvenirs. The Market Square is a great place to meet friends or go by yourself. So many places to eat & shop, musicians on the stage. Lots to do!

100's of shops with Mexican wares. Large variety and good prices. We brought a few things home. There were also some authentic Mexican restaurants and we had lunch at Margaritas

If you come on a weekend, you're more likely to see more of the action. Mi Tierra restaurant is open 24/7 and has delicious food and pastries. The marketplace has ethnic wares and a great cultural vibe. Within the market square are food vendors with...More

It was raining and cold (55 degrees) I can see this would be a fun place to shop in nice weather. We had just, two days before, been in Mexico so we felt things were a little pricey.

We walked some three blocks behind the San Fernando Cathedral to see this market square. I really expected something local and authentic, but instead found tons of shops with the same Mexican kind souvenirs. There are also some restaurants, but the heavy tourist smell kept...More

We walked quite a ways to get here in order to eat at a suggested restaurant, see this area, and do the shops. The block was pretty, but not any activities going the January day we were there. The stores are all filled with the...More

The stores are largely the same, selling the same items from Mexico. There are a few additional stores which have unique items, but most sell the same stuff, over and over. There are several places to eat. We got something at 2 of the stands...More

Parking in the area ranges between 5 to 10 dollars. I'm not aware of any free parking. We parked within walking distance to the Alamo, River walk and the Market Square.

Maybe in the outside area but definitely not on the inside unless they are a service animal. I would not recommend it.
