Sometimes referred to as The Forgotten War, this haunting, simple memorial is dedicated to those in the military—particularly those who lost their lives—in the war in the Korean Peninsula that began half a decade after WWII. The Second World War came after The War to...More

This sculpture is right across from the Tobin center. I think the sculpture represented a fox hole with soldiers in it -- unfortunately kids found it as a "mountain" to claim. What should be a perfect memorial to teach young children about history and respect...More

This was on our way walking to the Tobin Performance Arts Center, near the Vietnam War Memorial. Different sculpture but just as powerful. Good short stop and not part of the River Walk scene.

Looking at it I don't think Korean War or anything to do with honour or sacrifice. Vietnam memorial next to it is much better at leaving an impression on you.

Definitely worth getting away from the hubbub of the River walk to see this massive sculpture. We chanced upon it en route to the freeway and circled the block to actually stop and see it.

In a corner of a park is the Korean War Memorial. The memorial shows soldiers in a foxhole. Expectant looks on their faces. Nothing exaggerated, plain and simple. It totally captures the military experiance in Korea.

We went to visit the Vietnam War Memorial, and this one is close by in the same plaza. The title of this huge sculpture is "Night Watch". A high mound of stone and concrete represents a snow-covered foxhole. Two bronze U.S. Marine infantrymen, visible only...More
