High marks to this company for being professional and flexible with their bookings. After a bit of mechanical difficulty they rescheduled us immediately for the next day. Captain Ivan was friendly and knowledgeable. The naturalists were friendly, informational and fun to hang with. Great 3 1/2 hour tour, seeing many animals but the orca’s were elusive so they gave us a voucher to come back and try again. Now that’s service! We will be back for another great experience and hopefully orca sightings!😃

Our family had a once-in-a-lifetime experience with Western Prince Whale Watching! We witnessed a pod of orcas from the Biggs population hunt for seals and then frolic for a bit after their meal. We had Captain Ivan and Elah, as our naturalist, and they were absolutely wonderful guides. We were really touched that Captain Ivan appeared to be just as enthusiastic about the spotting as we were, even though spottings have got to be a daily routine for him. Elah was very helpful, informative, cheerful, and eager to answer our questions. We really couldn't have scripted a more ideal experience. For our experience, we went out in the zodiac, the Explorer II. We had a chilly, 50-minute thrill ride out from Friday Harbor to the area in the Salish Sea where the orcas had been sighted and then Captain Ivan spent at least as much time allowing us to watch the orcas do their thing. On a separate note, for those who might be interested: I would like to draw attention to the information on the Western Prince website about the fact that the Explorer II is a completely unique zodiac that Captain Ivan had designed and built specifically to reduce engine noise (it's jet propelled, so there is zero propeller noise) and reduce engine emissions. There are several whale watching alternatives out of Friday Harbor that also seem great, but the information about the Explorer II evidenced Captain Ivan's commitment to respecting the environment and the sea life in the area and helped us to choose Western Prince. It's a choice we will never regret!

Amazing! We saw so many orcas and they put on quite a show for us. Captain Ivan, Nina and Bethany were wonderful. I would give 10 stars if I could. Highly recommended 😀

The crew is professional and informative. We were able to see a group of transient orcas which did not disappoint. On our way back, we able to check out some other wildlife. I would highly recommend Western Prince for any sightseeing tours. They strive to make your trip a unique one.

We had an awesome experience with Western Prince. I had misunderstood the check-in time, but the outfit calls everyone ahead of time to find out where they are, and so we were able to arrive not too late. When we arrived, they were very understanding and friendly. Our naturalist Caitlin was passionate about the whales, and our captain was fun, friendly, capable, and kept us safe. We were able to see a few different groups of whales and spend about an hour with them. We even had whales pass under the boat 2 or 3 times and pop up not too far off. It was awesome, and our naturalist did a great job giving us background info on the specific whales in each group and explaining some of their behaviors. Afterward, Captain JB gave us excellent insider recommendations for lunch. We highly recommend Western Prince for your whale watching adventure! Their office is located right by the ferry landing, so it's not far to go from there to the boat with your gear.
