We've been attending the SFO for almost 40 years.
Last Saturday I bought tickets to Butterfly. Tickets were $310 each for 4 in the
"orchestra". Got there and we were seated in the mezzanine. That's over $1,200 for 4 tickets in the mezzanine! What a...More
Saw Candide with the fam here. The acoustics are astounding, even from the nosebleed section where we sat. The moat around the orchestra pit is cool. I wonder whether it serves some technical purpose. The venue is the best of any outdoor arena I have...More
Highly organized with parking attendants directing the specific "spot" you're to park. No need to dress for the opera. We saw everything from hippie gauze dresses, sundresses, to sequined gowns with limos.
The theatre has two openings on the side which allows you to enjoy...More
We saw Candide at the opera on opening night, June, 2018. The show itself is a little odd, but the experience was fun. We took morning tours of the opera house, and the original ranch. $10 each. Very informative. Not much of a breeze inside...More
Last night, we once again experienced the magic of the preview dinner and the most beautiful opera, Madame Butterfly on it's opening night. Perfect weather meaning gorgeous sunset, views out the sides and back of the stage of the beautiful New Mexico scenery.

We were fortunate enough to miss the Friday tour and went Saturday morning. On Saturdays the tour is free and they provide great muffins, orange juice and coffee! Now that's a deal that's hard to beat.
The folks doing the tour are very helpful and...More

The above-respondents have accurately stated the issue. I've been going to Santa Fe Opera and STARTED 30 years ago with seats @ $20.00 -- now, I'm buying $180.- $200.00 seats; my point is that YOU will enjoy whatever your pocket book allows. ALL THE SEATS have great sight lines and lovely sound. THIS CANNOT BE SAID FOR MANY EUROPEAN OPERA HOUSES!
