Santa Fe opera puts on great shows, with a top notch orchestra and excellent singers. The feature of opera in Santa Fe that distinguishes it from opera almost everywhere else is that the opera house is open to the New Mexico air. There is a...More

I wish we were more prepared for our night at the opera. Upon arrival there were several parking attendants directing patrons to the next available spot. Thought it was odd to have so many attendants when we were about an hour early. I now understand...More

CANDIDE- Best I've ever heard an opera sung in English. Fabulous story! ITALIAN GIRL IN ALGIERS- Totally hilarious!Even better than 2002 production. MADAME BUTTERFLY- Classic opera expertly done. ARIADNE AUF NAXOS- Prologue very fun and lively. Opera itself, done well. DR. ATOMIC- Once was enough....More

We attended the Dr Atomic opera. I read about tailgating and dressing up so we were all in. We had a great time and many others were doing the same. The Opera itself was disappointing. We were better dressed in period clothing than those in...More

A World Class Opera Festival takes place every year outside of Santa Fe. Not only is Opera the perfect art form of music, singing, dancing and staging; you can enjoy the beautiful sunsets and storms from your seat as the stage is usually open to...More

But do go to the Opera. A lovely venue and an interesting and entertaining performance. However, The Santa Fe Opera should be ashamed of themselves for charging $70 per person for a buffet with tasteless food, meant to be hot, served cold. In fact, terrible...More

This was a group get together that offered me the opportunity to visit the Santa Fe Opera for the first time. The tour backstage was interesting, and the performance preview of Candide was excellent. The dinner was served nicely in open sided tents in the...More

We saw five operas in five days! A little much to digest but Santa Fe Opera lends itself to such excess. The ambiance and the beauty of the physical location and not to forget , the great productions are a wonderful, once in a lifetime...More

I’m a rather cold person but even I was hot during our performance. A beautiful out door stage with great acoustics. A bar is available in the common area but only water is allowed in the seating area. Good news it’s 3.00 with a reusable...More

Magical setting to enjoy opera. The setting for Madame Butterfly seemed to float against the open Santa Fe early evening sky. We had the delicious pre-performance buffet. Intelligently and artistically planned with a very informative pre-opera talk. I will make this an annual event.
