The Santa Fe Botanical Garden strives to benefit all Santa Fe and New...

The Santa Fe Botanical Garden strives to benefit all Santa Fe and New Mexico citizens, and our area's many visitors. The Botanical Garden is an independent nonprofit, not a part of the four Santa Fe state museums, with a commitment to affordable admission and providing monthly Community Days free for New Mexico residents. Our educational mission raises awareness of critical issues such as water conservation, climate change impact, and responsible gardening practices. SFBG consists of the Botanical Garden on Museum Hill and the Leonora Curtin Wetland Preserve. The Gardens provides an "outdoor living room" where everyone can connect with nature, marvel at amazing plant varieties, and benefit from a place for contemplation. Visitors can relax under shading ramadas, discover a century-old red bridge, and explore the Art Trail, where changing exhibitions of sculpture will encourage return visits. With an array of native and traditional plants, awe-inspiring stone and metal work, and breathtaking vistas, the Botanical Garden is the essence of New Mexico. The Landscape Architect is W Gary Smith, and we are currently in construction of a 2nd phase, an Ethnobotanical garden to open in 2016. Please stop by and enjoy beauty and lessons to be learned in the garden! Thank you.

While the garden is young and small, it really packs a punch! We were there diuring a sculpture exhibit and between the plantings, sculptures and mountain views, it was breathtaking. Very comprehensive plantings and design, and very helpful staff who were on hand to answer questions and offer information about the city and garden. My husband said it was his... More

Several times I've enjoyed a guided tour provided by an enthusiastic volunteer. This botanical garden continues to create new landscapes in the uncultivated areas surrounding the core botanical garden. As the garden expands, new plants native to New Mexico and the Southwest, as well as cultivated plants are added. You will see some familiar plants and some that you've never... More

Outside of Santa Fe is Museum Hill, and one of the destinations is the Botanical Garden. Admission is $10, which ordinarily wouldn't seem excessive. But the grounds are very limited, divided into two parts. The first is clearly the original and can't be much over 100 yards long. It's beautifully maintained, the plants are well labeled, and generally very nice.... More

Took a stroll in the Santa Fe Botanical this afternoon. A nice quiet place to just be. Great view towards the mountains. Comfortable paths to walk. Even though most of the flowers and herbs are not in bloom, the cactus are stunning. There are many signs to identify the plants which I find helpful. Garden has many lavender and roses... More

A really well planned new garden with a great future ahead. Make sure to catch a docent for a tour if they are around. I really learned a lot and enjoyed my time there.

The gardens are new and they are improving all the time. Started small and it is getting to be a bigger attraction. It is a small botanical garden with cute gift shops and dirt walking paths. December PM festival of lights was interesting. Not fabulous but clearly effort went into the designs.

We enjoyed their holiday light show in December. The staff is very knowledgeable and kind. The walking paths are fun.

Took family from California, who very much enjoyed it. The addition of the newer section is excellent, clearly to be much used. The Glow is wonderful, but we were too late for that, but it was still a lovely visit.

Nice place, but I wouldn't go out of your way to visit this place. It's not a very large setup, however, if you're already up on Museum Hill it might be worth checking out.

Spectacular vistas and winding trails to take in as you walk through the gardens. Cannot wait to go back in-season. Lots of expansion still taking place. Check their calendar for events planned. We could not get there for the NY Eve Illuminaries but the pictures looked spectacular.
