Overview
More
The Santa Fe Botanical Garden strives to benefit all Santa Fe and New Mexico citizens, and our area's many visitors. The Botanical Garden is an independent nonprofit, not a part of the four Santa Fe state museums, with a commitment to affordable admission and providing monthly Community Days free for New Mexico residents. Our educational mission raises awareness of critical issues such as water conservation, climate change impact, and responsible gardening practices. SFBG consists of the Botanical Garden on Museum Hill and the Leonora Curtin Wetland Preserve. The Gardens provides an "outdoor living room" where everyone can connect with nature, marvel at amazing plant varieties, and benefit from a place for contemplation. Visitors can relax under shading ramadas, discover a century-old red bridge, and explore the Art Trail, where changing exhibitions of sculpture will encourage return visits. With an array of native and traditional plants, awe-inspiring stone and metal work, and breathtaking vistas, the Botanical Garden is the essence of New Mexico. The Landscape Architect is W Gary Smith, and we are currently in construction of a 2nd phase, an Ethnobotanical garden to open in 2016. Please stop by and enjoy beauty and lessons to be learned in the garden! Thank you.

Beautiful display of art and gardens. Take the yoga class if you have time. Very relaxing. Not a large area, but worth the visit.

The variety of plants, flowers, trees and other New Mexico nature was impressive and well-marked/described. The very cool thing about these gardens is that there are so many beautiful sculptures throughout the entire gardens. A unique combination - peaceful and relaxing!

Interesting to see native plants that thrive is difficult climate. The lavender was robust and providing pollen for bees and bumblebees. The sculptures were as interesting as the plants. Compact but nice.

Small but a great place to get ideas for your own garden, including water collection, garden design and structures, and the use of native and drought tolerant plants.

We had a wonderful time wandering around this sweet little garden. They have done a great job in labeling the plants. The volunteers are very proud of the garden, and for good reason. Well worth the visit.

The gardens are relatively new, so in the early stages of establishing. There is a wide selection of native and exotic plants with a distribution of animal sculptures amongst them.
