As some mentioned earlier in the reviews, there were good and bad about this property. I will try to be brief: - Lodging: we stayed at the Rising Moon room. It was nice and clean, bed was super comfortable. However, there is not much view,...More

The rest of the family went skiing and I went to the spa. Best decision ever! I had a Japanese shiatsu massage that was very relaxing. I spent the rest of the time in the sauna and hot tubs surrounded by pine and snow.

While I can’t speak to the accommodations and spa treatments, I can say that the private hot tubs and aesthetic at Ten Thousand Waves is mesmerizing. I’ve been going here since I was a child, and still have memories of hurrying from the small cold...More

Thank you for the great review - and from someone who's been coming their entire life. We hope you continue to join us for many more years!

well this is a very scenic and expensive joint. there are massage therapists, a restaurant, hot tubs (not filled with hot spring water for that you need ojo or jemez). private tubs are the best. and a great gift shop

Had heard a lot about ten thousand waves... mostly great. Unfortunately, our visit was below average. Construction site outside, so it was not the serene garden expected. Summer robes in sub-zero weather in the waiting area where the doors opened and closed for people heading...More

Let me say up front that if this were only a review of the masseurs and aestheticians, they would have gotten 5 stars. But let me warn you, this place is a chaotic, hot mess. I suspect especially chaotic during ski season; hopefully not all...More

I’ve never been to Japan, but I’m still pretty sure that this is the most authentic Japanese spa experience you can have in the US. The staff is delightful, the massages top notch, and the mountain ambiance can’t be beat. If you can afford it,...More
