This came highly recommended to us by a client that had seen them so we made a point of finding out where they were performing (usually in the Cultural Center but it was under construction). Tickets were $10 for adults and $5 for kids and the show lasted about 40 minutes (6 dances). The costumes were of good quality and... More

This group of "amateurs" displayed a real love for their recreation of traditional Russian folk dances. We saw their ~1 hour performance as part of a tour after our cruise ship docked in Sitka. I would rate this as one of the best experiences of our trip.

This was added to our tour, and we enjoyed it. The dancers were proficient and the commentary explaining the dances was great. We appreciated the art form that was preserved by this group.

This was part of a ship excursion to see the local highlights. Timing was critical as the show is put on by local women who take a break during the day to perform for the passengers. The show starts at noon, on the dot. The tour guide was great at making sure that we arrived in time to get seated.... More

A group of women, doing amazing dances, in both male and female roles (no men allowed!). This is the best exercise routine ever! Their costumes are authentic and made by the troupe members. They have such joy in their performing, it flows off the stage and into the audience.

In Sitka the troupe called New Archangel Dancers was comprised of six women--three danced the role of women and the other three dressed and danced the role of men. They performed in authentic costumes several original dances from the provinces of Russia. They accomplished phenominally well the athletic movements involved in Russian folk dancing. It was an outstanding display of... More

Walked to the venue on our own, less than 20 minutes from the tender pier. We admired the skills and personalities of the dancers. Well worth the $10 admission (much cheaper than doing the visit with a ship-sponsored tour) for the 40 minute show.

These ladies, yes ladies - were excellent - especially the women who learned to dance as men in the Russian folk dances. I loved these dances and the information given on each dance
