Although the museum is overshadowed by being next to Steamtown NHS, the trolley museum has its own story to tell. A ride on the trolley is well worth it. For the 'nuts and bolts' people, a ride to the trolley barn at PNC Field is well worth the time. Actual work on original local trolley is taking place. Everyone is... More

Riding an electric trolley is not something you get to do everyday. That is why I decidec to ride it. I am so glad I did! The tour guide told us about the history of trolleys in the area. They are still used today to go to local baseball games. We went through a dark tunnel and that was cool!... More

If you enjoy trolley's and trains you will enjoy this museum. They have the history of the Electric Trolley with lots of exhibits. A short movie which is a must to see. If you have "The National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Pass" there is no charge to get into the museum. If you decide to take the trolley ride... More

Interesting museum detailing the evolution from horse drawn trolleys to the electric trolley and their demise due to Henry Ford's cars. Very educational. Lovely old cars to see.

The 10 mile trolley ride will be the highlight of your trip to the Scranton area! The conductor will give you lots of history and point out different things during your ride. You will go through a one mile long tunnel! There is a museum & gift shop you can explore before or after you ride the trolley. It has... More

Full disclosure: I'm a railroad and history geek. I was at the Steamtown across the street and thought why not? Fascinating window into the way it was in Scranton (typical of many US cities) in the first half of the 20th century. Knowledgeable staff, great exhibits. Highlight was the excursion in a real operating Brill car up the mountain to... More

Visited this museum while traveling in the Wilkes-Barre Scranton area. Called ahead to make sure what times were available to take the trolley ride...1:30pm last Thursday was the first available (two other time slots were taken up by school groups) The museum was very good....documenting the history of the electric trolley for public transportation in Scranton and the trolley ride... Excellent trolley ride and excellent museum. I would suggest going when they are offering trolley rides. Check the website for the schedule. This place is only a 10 minute ride from PNC field. If you're a baseball fan and a trolley history fan this is the perfect day trip.

This small, however, very informative museum is located directly across the parking lot from Steamtown. If you want to explore the history of The Trolley in Scranton in particular and The Trolley in general, spend an hour or two here. You will be amazed and learn at the same time. The bonus feature are the trolley runs which are operated... More
