I always take my furbabies here to walk around and run. The grounds are beautiful. Many photo shoots happen here. Love the little round track down by the water. You must tour the mansion! Absolutely beautiful!

Though we arrived between scheduled tour times, James was willing to give a small group our own tour of this fascinating and gorgeous mansion. We learned about how it was built, added onto, looted, sold, abandoned, and finally brought back to life by a group of dedicated history enthusiasts in Murfreesboro. Thanks, James, for a wonderful trip back to the... More

My wife and I actually visited here 2 years ago in May. Brought my mom out for Mother's day and we all had a great time! Absolutely love the history and info video before the tour.

My family loved taking a tour of this house and seeing the grounds. I'm glad they were able to stop this house from being knocked down, and it's so nice of the family to donate furnishings to the museum. Our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly.

This was a nice tour of an antebellum home. The dosent was enthusiastic and well educated. The tour combined historical facts about the home and family and Civil War battles in TN. The style of the home is not one I associate with antebellum era homes. I usually think of Georgian "Gone With the Wind' grandeur. It was largely influenced... More

As others have said, it is very fortunate that this house still stands for us to visit, enjoy and learn from today. The very enthusiastic and knowledgeable guides really bring the tour and house to life. If you are on the fence about visiting Oaklands, take a chance. We were not sure what to expect and were delighted with the... More

The history of this structure is amazing. There are many original artifacts. It once was abandoned and almost ruined totally but is now restored almost perfectly. They provide tours so check the times and you will not be disappointed. There is a gift shop located on the premises as well.
