This place is very unassuming on the outside but when you come in, get ready for truly superb live music, excellent bar food and a very friendly staff. I just came home from seeing Dave Alvin tonight and i have been raving about to everyone I talk to.

I have been a patron of Sportsmen's Tavern for over 10 years. The quality of musicians that grace its stage is amazing for being a small venue. I have seen Jazz, blues, bluegrass, country... all at reasonable prices. Cheapest G&T in town ($5 for top shelf) and a decent beer selection. Keep in mind, you order your food at the... More

We saw a terrific show with David Lindley, sound and acoustics are fantastic and we had a great spot in the balcony. Bartender was great, drinks reasonable tho would like to see some decent bottles of wine. The food service could have been better, we got our hot app with our entrees, and an overcooked burger even though we asked... More

Was here today for Szelest Fest 3. Great music, fabulous musicians. Food is very good. I had a fresh hamburger grilled perfectly. Served with steak fries. $11. Friends had Chicken Fingers with b b q sauce and fries. Good. More friends had steak goalie with onions , peppers and cheese with fries. Delish. All food was very fresh, served hot... More

The Sportsmen's Tavern on Amherst St. In Buffalo, N.Y. Is THE place to go for excellent live local and national music. There are two levels with large screen monitors so you can see the bands when it gets very crowded. They have a full bar and also serve food during the performances. There is usually a small cover charge at... More

Went to hear the band McCathyizm. They were excellent. The bar itself has a downstairs and upstairs with bars in both areas. Really good bar food. The French fries with blue cheese are ridiculously good. Staff is very friendly. I will definitely go back next time I'm in Buffalo..

I visit the Sportsmen's Tavern frequently. It's not a huge place, but they bring in a wide variety of local bands as well as touring bands. It has a great atmosphere and and attracts a wide variety of listeners.

Don't let the neighborhood scare you, this is s hidden hole in the wall to enjoy some music. The beer is cold and won't break the bank, okay bar food but may want to eat somewhere else if you are looking for food. You can always check online to see who is performing. Upstairs balcony is the best place to... More
