Commissioned by Nevada silver heiress Theresa Fair Oelrichs in 1899, architect Stanford White modeled Rosecliff after the Grand Trianon, the garden retreat of French kings at Versailles. After the house was completed in 1902, at a reported cost of $2.5 million, Mrs. Oelrichs hosted fabulous entertainments here, including a fairy tale dinner and a party featuring famed magician Harry Houdini.

Different Focus from the other mansions we visited - Breakers and The Elms. Perhaps not as impressive but certainly impressive enough. Focus was on entertaining and has been the venue for several films, including "The Great Gatsby" So worth the visit.

Went with the Winter Package of three mansions. Wanted to see each mansion. Rose Cliff was a bonus which made four to tour. Certainly worth the time. Amazing rehab to original condition.

Headed to Newport for a few hours wanted to check out the mansions during Christmas season. We happen to drive by Rosecliff and noticed the open sign and pulled in what a beautiful place the tour was on a nice screen that you carried around with headphones would like to go back again during the summer to see what the... This is a good addition to your mansion tours. The house is gorgeous and full of history and charm. It's a bit more restrained than the Breakers and Elms. Great venue for weddings too!

A beautiful mansion. A great guide told us fascinating details about the house and it's owner. Clothes, pictures, furniture... all really see-worthy👍

Enchanting is the word for Rosecliff. The architecture, space, and gracious furnishings create a most enchanting mansion. The sweetheart staircase is lovely, and the ballroom is grand with an exquisite ceiling. Like most of the other mansions, an audio tour allows visitors to learn about the mansion and its residents at their own pace. Don’t forget your camera – this... More

This house is quite different in character to the Breakers and Marble House - wonderfully bright and light. Upstairs has been more recently renovated 60's / 70's so isn't part of the tour, which is a little disappointing.

Beautiful mansion - it's so nice you can now take pics inside! Funny how ornate ceilings used to be, remember to look up :)
