This makes a nice drive to see the coast and houses. There are several points to stop. Worth some time, but probably no more than an hour.

We went on this drive when hurricane Jose was passing through. Unfortunate the damage it was to other areas because in Newport it was beautiful with the large waves crashing over the rocks and spraying mist. Plus the warm winds were so unexpected but neat.

Parts of the drive are really fantastic and parts are ho-hum, but still worth the ten mile trip, especially in a convertible!

I do the Ocean Drive ride at least once a year. This was a tradition when I was a child. I love going by all the mansions then stopping and watching the ocean. On a good day you can watch flights flying at Brenton Point....More

As part of our trolley tour, we went along Ocean Drive. If you are driving yourself, there are areas to stop for photos and rock climbing and small beaches.

We love visiting the Castle Hill Inn and Restaurant on the drive, adjacent to the Coast Guard station. Overlooking the Bay and ocean, the front lawn is the site of numerous concerts during the summer, like a movie scene... More

This is only a foot path on a rocky ledge if the sea! Padlock your bike at the end of the street at the entrance to the cliff walk.
