Smaller mansion. The garden in front of this Mansion is so beautiful and adds to the beauty of the Mansion.

One of several mansions I was able to tour. This is a guided tour on the top of each hour. Pictures are permitted, but no flashes. Each of the Preservation Society homes offers a parking lot by the house for free or you can walk...More

While in the area we toured this mansion. The tour guide was knowledgeable with the history of this mansion. She allowed lots of time to look around and ask question.

When we drove up I thought the house was a bit small in comparison to some of the other cottages such. While it is smaller it was occupied until a much later date and the furnishings and lifestyle are much more relatable. I don’t have...More

Chepstow is a great mansion to visit for those who enjoy guided tours. That is the only way to see the mansion. It is an interesting home and great to see if one buys a multi-mansion ticket or membership.

Unlike other Newort Mansions the interiors here are mid 20th C. The house is exquisitely furnished with stylishly displayed rooms. It is a lovely contrast to the more period interiors of the other cottages.

Dear Marie1000 - We are so sincerely sorry about your experience at Chepstow. That is certainly NOT the standard of hospitality that we expect all Preservation Society employees to extend to our guests, and you can be assured that we will take immediate steps to...More

The home is a more real lived-in home in appearance and offers some interesting history and architectural details. Tours are only with a docent and our particular docent was obsessed with dates and relationships and had us bored to tears. If you can only take...More

The house itself was one of the older mansions in the area, but the star of the show, long-time owner Alletta, is more contemporary than most of the mansion owners we hear about on the tours. This fascinating woman had her own ideas for decorating...More

I have been to many of the Newport mansions but this was my first visit to Chepstow. I tend to avoid hourly tours as I don't love being in a group but rather like going it alone. This tour however, was quite nice. Our guide...More
