Had a lovely time during the week. Very crowded on the weekends. Unless you like hanging out with yuppies in pink shorts with labradoodles, don't go on the weekend.

Expected to be Newport's version of Fishermen's Wharf, it turns out to be a rundown area full of touristy shops. Roads are uneven. Not recommended.

What a nice walk down the Wharf to the harbor. We also found they have guest rooms as well. Shopping along the tiny street as well as places to eat, some elegant, others just for a snack.

When visiting Newport, walk around Bannister's Wharf for views of Newport Harbor, to eat or to shop. Also some boat rides may be purchased here.

We like to walk through the shops on Bannister's Wharf after disembarking from the harbor launch. Plenty to see in the shops and the surrounding waterscape. The Newport Preservation shop on the boulevard sells a biography of John Banister, which provides a fascinating glimpse of...More

The Bannister's Wharf in Newport is pleasant to stroll through and there are plentiful shops of all sorts. Fine for tourist browsing.

Main problem is that really can't get a decent view of the Harbor or the water. The buildings and boats literally block the view. Some interesting shops but very crowded at times.

The street is primarily pedestrian traffic and offers a variety of restaurants and shops is a small area. Lots of choices for food, including the Black Pearl and Clarke Cooke House. The Newport Mansions store is also on the corner @ America's Cup Avenue.

Lots of places to explore. Shopping and many places to eat. Has a party atmosphere. Parking is the biggest challenge.

Hi, I have seen numerous people walking with their dogs. People even bring their young dogs to the wharf to socialize, have people pet them, etc. Given that Neil K. posted that pets are not allowed, I called the wharf. I... More

It’s a street shopping area, so there wouldn’t be an issue walking on the street. There may be issues with taking the dog into the stores; that would be up to each store if they allowed it. Unless it’s a service dog, doubt... More

As for the walk it is about ten blocks and is easily doable. I can't answer about the coffee.
