Nice respite from Thames Street.

After spending a few hours on crowded Thames Street, Ballard Park was a welcome relief. A nice, quiet walk cleared our heads and we headed off to the beautiful Gooseberry Beach!

After spending a few hours on crowded Thames Street, Ballard Park was a welcome relief. A nice, quiet walk cleared our heads and we headed off to the beautiful Gooseberry Beach!

My boyfriend and I took a trip to Newport, and actually found Ballard Park on Tripadvisor. It was such a gorgeous place to walk around! There was a bunny trail with tons of wild bunnies hopping around, amazing wildflowers, and several different trails. There was a big, open area that would be ideal for a picnic as well. I highly... Ballard Park is a beautiful nature preserve with trails for exploring. They hold summer nature sessions for kids , and guided tours to teach about it's foliage, birds, and woodland creatures. Ballard Park was a very peacful nature preserve. As I walked around, I didn't see a single other person and after just a few steps I couldn't even hear the traffic. The park was absolutely gorgeous, but I was a little disappointed to find it wasn't the kind of "park" where you could run around with a dog or a... More
