Verde Canyon Railroad is a Southwestern adventure that takes passengers on...

Verde Canyon Railroad is a Southwestern adventure that takes passengers on a ride through Arizona’s backcountry, only accessible from the comfort of this train.

This legendary “boutique” attraction allows members of groups an uncommon view of a wildly-wonderful red-rock canyon. The four-hour excursion requires no laborious effort or exertion except by the highly-trained staff who absolutely love what they do. As evidenced by exceedingly positive reviews, they do it very well.

Verde Canyon Railroad is the only excursion train in the Southwest which offers every guest two seats for the price of one: inside viewing through large panoramic windows in all coaches and 360-degree views from open-air viewing cars attached to each coach. As the train passes “through” a grand canyon, both vantages celebrate incomparable scenery, high-desert flora and fauna, historic trestles, dramatic geology, unusual rock formations and passage through a century-old 680-foot tunnel. Throughout the journey the captivating history of the Verde Canyon and the Railroad unfolds with narration interlaced with a wide genre of popular railroad tunes.

We took the first class car and it was well worth the money. Champagne, cash bar and food provided. The staff were very friendly. The rail car was roomy with great seating, large windows and another open car was available to go to if you wanted to be outside to view the scenery and take pictures. The scenery was breathtaking... Don't get me wrong this is a beautiful train ride. I will compare it to Grand Canyon Railway PROS: Actors don't wake you up when you are sleeping like a baby due to alcohol and rhythm of the train. And you don't feel beholden to keep tipping everybody. They accepted credit card payments. You could listen to the well versed... More

We took this 4 hour trip on the recommendation of some people that we met at breakfast on our first full day in Sedona. We called and happened to get the last two seats on a first class car, which included snacks and a champagne toast. There is a full bar, as well. It was about a 1/2 hour-45 minute... More

We've been here when we were on a road trip and had a nice time, but I would not advice anyone from Europe to include it in their road trip. It just isn't special enough. The treatment in first class (including drinks, snacks and a lot of space in the outdoor viewing car, so spend those extra buxks!) was very... More

Very reasonably priced 4 hour round trip train ride through the canyon from Clarkdale to Perkinsville AZ on an old style train, with both regular and open air cars. Good recorded commentary with lots of information and added bonus of live commentary on specific points for interests! A pleasant ride back in time...

A 4 hour ride thru the beautiful Verde Canyon mountains is a must trip. Food is fair but, the drinks are first class. Service is great and friendly. You'll enjoy the time on this train and you will tell your friends.

It's a 4-hour ride on a really cool trail. Champagne and snacks were free. Their mixed drinks and beer were excellent. Lisa was our hostess on our car - she was great. Sean was host for the outside viewing car (and he took care of the snacks) - he was also great. He was very informative about the area.

Very enjoyable, very relaxing and beautiful scenery. Great hospitality from the staff. Good hors d'oeuvres, and nice selection even for those with dietary restrictions. Highly recommend.

Before our trip to Sedona we ran into a couple who said we must try the Verde Canyon train and be sure to take the first class car. What a wonderful suggestion that turned out to be! We enjoyed an afternoon of beautiful scenery along with a light lunch and cocktails. Would definitely recommend and we would go again next... More

We went on the Verde Canyon Railroad, which included a four hour ride from Clarksdale, AZ to Perkinsville, AZ, a Ghost Town 20 miles north of there, and back again. Lunch (chicken wings, sandwich bites, fruit, cheese, etc.) was included. We ate a scrumptious lunch and sipped frozen Margaritas ($9.00) all while enjoying the beautiful red rock canyon. It was...
