This place is in a great location. Great benefit for our Armed Forces. When you're at the resort it doesn't feel like you're in Waikiki. The older retirees have this place figured out.

Sadly, Hale Koa had the best reviews among the luaus around Oahu. I was a bit disappointed--I've only been to one luau before (on Maui), but it was more enjoyable than this one. The cultural dancing and music were good, the and fire dancing was really entertaining. The show was too 'showy' for my liking, but that's understandable in the... More

One of the more affordable luaus in the area also happens to be one of the best. Good food, friendly staff, fun entertainment. The Mrs and I had a wonderful time and would recommend this to anyone.

For those who like to stretch the most of their money, this is the luau to attend for the price..59.95 Other luau's are from 80 to 150...the show is great the drinks cost less than your average waikiki venue..kids and adults get to participate in various activities

This was how we spent our first night on Oahu. I thought it was excellent! Sure the food was different, but that's because it's not typical of the American diet. The flavors were different but I enjoyed it. As for the show, I didn't have anything to compare it to until later in the week and I can tell you... More

This Luau is highly rated on TripAdvisor and so it should be. Do not go there for the food because this did not live up to the rest of the show. The evening begins with a cocktail and various activities to get you in the mood. Ukulele lessons, flower bracelet making, hula lessons and tree climbing to name a few.... More

I'm not sure if this is common throughout luau's;however, we found many of the jokes to be word for word from the Polynesian Cultral Center. Pre dinner events were the typical temporary tatoos, headband weaving and lei making which the children enjoyed. During dinner the food was ok;however, food was just left on our table without us knowing what it... More

The Hale Koa luau is definitely worth seeing! What a fantastic benefit for military families! I admit that I was a little concerned about decency after reading that there was a lot of "eye candy" and after seeing pictures of the beautiful girls wearing coconut shells for tops.....but the show was VERY VERY decent and tasteful. There were men who... More

This was a fantastic luau! The food was delicious and plentiful. Can't go wrong when they greet you with a lei and mai tai! Lots of authentic activities and culture. Highly recommend. Book early so you can get a table up front! We stayed next door but walked over for luau. Lovely hotel too! And all of the staff are... More

The Luau at the Hale Koa is family friendly with activities for young ones and teens happening during the pre dinner get together and Mai Tais (and soda or punch for kids) Dinner is served sort of family style and the show itself is the usual. There was a moving tribute to Warriors no longer with us by their families,... More
