When we booked our tickets for this luau in late January, everything we read online said it was open bar. We figured the high price tag was worth it if we could enjoy the night with plenty of tropical drinks. When we arrived at the Royal Hawaiian to check in, they handed us each ONE drink ticket and said we'd... More

I've been to several luau's and feel that this luau offers the best experience for guests. The view of diamond head in the background is fantastic, the luau food is top notch, and the entertainment is outstanding. If it's within your budget, splurge on this luau and book premier seating.

I LOVED the Aha 'Aina at the Royal Hawaiian! We'd researched a lot of luaus and picked this one because it looked spectacular, and it did not disappoint! The setting was beautiful, the ocean as a backdrop and pretty tables and table settings in a lovely open area. The food...so good! There was so much to choose from and plenty... More

The food was above average, especially for a luau. This Luau is only once a week, and only allows 200 people or so and supposedly brings in the "stars" of the other luaus on the island. Less the emcee, who stumbled with his words on many occasions, I believe this was probably the case...the performers were excellent. The setting at... More

We enjoyed every minute of the amazing dinner show! It was a great was to relax and eat while we let someone else entertain us :) The food was great, a good mix of familiar and new tastes. The open bar was great - wife really loved the piña coladas. The setting was amazing, as you could enjoy watching the... More

I took the advice of my fellow Trip Advisors and booked the Aha 'Aina luau, partly because it is a tradition to attend a luau when visiting Hawaii, and because we were staying at the beautiful Royal Hawaiian, so it was literally right on our doorstep. The show, performers and presentation lived up to up to our highest expectations. Sadly,... More

You can't beat this Luau experience in Waikiki, with the variety and quality of food, dancing, and drink within walking distance from every major hotel. I can't think of a better, more historic, or prettier location (Diamond Head in the background) to want to experience a luau. As it is only one night a week (Monday), this luau gets its... More

We are from New Zealand, so have a solid cultural background - and having visited several South Pacific Islands ... we have a great understanding of traditional storytelling and dance ... but this was a great night! Set in the beautiful grounds of the Ocean Lawn at the Royal Hawaiian Resort ... oceanside ... Diamond Head looming to the left... More

We are so disappointed that the luau was performed inside last night. We brought a couple celebrating their 20th anniversary that had never been to a luau and are so sad to share this experience with them. The weather was beautiful and we could have been outside. The food was good but it felt like we were at a buffet... More

Spent the evening here for the Luau and show. The hotel was beautiful with diamond head as a backdrop. The food was delicious and plentiful. I was disappointed that they do not pull the pig out of the ground prior to eating so you can see the tradition. The performers were amazing telling the story of the Hawaiian culture and... More
