$10 for both locations!! If you enjoy museums then this is a great place for a lazy rainy day. We started out up on the hill at the smaller house site....lovely grounds for walking! We then moved downtown to the lovely larger site. There is just so much to see.

For many years, we've enjoyed this tranquil museum to linger while savoring various collections of art, especially fascinating is the extensive collection of ancient as well as modern oriental art - Japanese, Chinese, Korean and more. There are also famous old and new Western art works to see, also. Be sure to make reservations for lunch there. It's fantastic!

Good municipal collection that is especially strong on Asian art. Excellent restaurant! Many locals eat lunch here, away from the bustle of downtown.

I always suggest-- there is so much more to Honolulu than the beach-- and this is another reason to dry off and get some culture. Small but nice $10 admission Only takes an hour or less. Casual but sophisticated vibe Great presentations of eclectic art. We really liked the wall colors: purple, yellow, orange and blue used to highlight various... More

The Honolulu Museum of Art is a gem, one of the best collections of Asian/Pacific art in the USA. The building itself is worth the trip. In addition, they offer special excursions to the late Doris Duke mansion near Diamond Head. With its fantastic Islamic art and beachfront setting, this place is magical!

If you want to see everything on display, give yourself the whole day so as not to rush the experience - it's definitely worthwhile. The exhibits herald from every corner of the world and although the spaces are intimate, it never detracts from what's on display. My favourite? A brilliantly painted floral still life - just magnificent!

HMOA has a great selection of international art and artefacts from a variety of cultures around the world. There is a very large and comprehensive Asian gallery, islamic art, native and contemporary American art as well as local Polynesian art and modern design. We did a quick run through in about 2 hours but could easily have spent the whole... More
