Surprised to see at least one piece of work from ancient Chinese scrolls to Monet to Francis Bacon to Robert Motherwell. Cafe good too. Reserve a table when you get there for lunch.

make a separate reservation to see Shangri La - not located at the museum, but you have to take a shuttle from there. Look at separate listings under Trip Advisor. Fabulous place.

Great Museum with great art. A must do for art lovers. We do love the tranquility of the museum, it transports you to another time. It has a restaurant as well that serves lunch and dinner. One of our favorite Saturday morning outings.

This wonderful museum was a pleasant surprise, with excellent displays and wonderful pieces of art that pay great respect to the multiculturalism of Hawaii. It has a limited number but broad breadth of artifacts and fine art, and is well worth a day's visit. Finding...More

When we pulled up in our cab I thought we might be in the wrong location, the building is a rambling stucco building with clay tile roof and lots of courtyards. However open any door to any exhibit and you walk into a modern, beautiful,...More

Worth the $10. I think next time I will time my parking better. The art school was packed. Parked on the street and walked over. No hassles.

This museum is not small about 15 collection rooms and courtyards. There are always exhibishion as well. But depending on your schedule, 1 hour or 2 hours will be walking through all collection rooms.

I concur with the other two respondents, but would also add that there is paid parking at the Blaisdell Center across Thomas Square and metered parking adjacent to the museum and Linekona Center.

There's an office just behind the admissions desk where people leave packs and suitcases. The staff is very helpful.
