We have walked through Fort DeRussy beach park a number of times. Always nice and never too crowded.

Average green space in Waikiki. Wouldn't consider this a destination landmark, unless you have personal ties/history towards it. It is across from the Hilton Hawaiian Hotel and would walk through to access the main strip of Waikiki. Wouldn't make a special trip........

Quite a large park, but if you're expecting to see a fort, you'll be disappointed. There is, however, an army museum which was closed the Monday we were there. Also disappointing. The beach was nice, but very crowded, if that's what you like.

My daughter and I swam in the beautiful blue Pacific waters at the DeRussy Beach every day of our visit. They have cleared much of the "toe-crunching" coral from the sea bed here so it makes for some most excellent swimming. Nice calm water out...More

This is a less crowded beach in the Waikiki area and is next to the Hale Koa military hotel. For active duty military and veterans this is a great location because you get the military prices and services from the Hale Koa. I stayed in...More

This is a beautiful park for an early morning walk. The trees are amazing and it was very clean and well kept. I was able to see rainbows on several occasion while walking here! It was close to the ocean too!

This is still the best beach in the Waikiki area, hire a beach umbrella and lounger and enjoy the perfect sea view and Diamond head, not that cheap but worth every penny. If you swim out to the white buoy you will see the turtles...More

walking distance and small museum when open. nice calm grounds to sit and people watch. picturesque and quiet but do be careful because the beautiful warm climate makes for a large vagrant population.

the milatary resort is next door. you have to be a veteran to stay there or active. The park is next door and anyone can go there. it is no big deal, just a big grass area next to the beach.

Hale Koa hotel will suit military. As for the Ft De Russy Park, it has the museum which will suit vintage WWII enthusiasts etc.

Only active duty military or veterans can use the swimming pool near the beach - there is no charge. There is another pool closer to the hotel that is available only to hotel guests. They also have rentals for beach... More
