This is a large, well maintained beach, part of a US military recreation center that is open to the public. So it is clean and safe and family oriented. There are no problems here, ever. You can just stroll down Waikiki Beach to this one....More

We stayed next door to Fort DeRussy Beach Park and it was wonderful to look out over the park every day, to walk through it and escape the heat of the beach.

I almost hate to say I love this beach, but in fairness, I must. Shade exists here and there, barbecue pits, volleyball and uncrowded. A bit of heaven on Waikiki.

On a hot day and walking up and down most of Oahu's main streets, this is a little gem where you can slip off you shoes and soak in the atmosphere.

Great rates for parking, close to the Waikiki Beach Walk. Close to the Hale Koa (parking is for the hotel) and Hilton Hawaiian Village.

If you are a guest at Hale Koa there is a parking garage across the street for less that $10 a day and it is secure.

the milatary resort is next door. you have to be a veteran to stay there or active. The park is next door and anyone can go there. it is no big deal, just a big grass area next to the beach.

Hale Koa hotel will suit military. As for the Ft De Russy Park, it has the museum which will suit vintage WWII enthusiasts etc.
