Lots of accurate reviews already. I'm a nurse, and want to mention if you have cardiac or lung issues you may want to do another hike. It's a serious hike with a steep incline straight up. It does not "ease up" as you get higher. Even the most fit of hikers were working hard. When you get to the trestle... More

This is one of the harder hikes I've done. Only because it really works your legs. The view at the end is well worth it. Make sure you bring plenty of water.

This hike is about half as long as the Manitou Incline, but still a great workout hike. Great Mountain top views of the South Eastern coastline of OAHU. Bring water and have something to eat prior to undertaking this hike.

Great hike! Relatively short, just seems longer as it's pretty much straight up and the railroad ties can be precarious. Definitely get there early. Due to a traffic accident we didnt get there till an hour after we wanted, but it was an overcast day which kept most of the heat away. This made the hike MUCH more pleasant. View... More

Okay, I'm not the most sportiy guy ever. But I'm a guy in my mid twenties and I am average sportivy. For me, the hike was very hard! It took about 40-50 minutes to get up to the top and the sun burned down! It was a very hot day. As soon as you're at the top, you can enjoy... More

After the first half I was like it's ok and not that exhausting... But the second half gets really tough and the last part is just brutal. But believe me... all the pain, it's worth it. The view is breathtaking and the feeling of overcoming the pain is awesome.

It was so hard for me to climb uphill this hike, after it I had the sore muscles in legs for a week. Although, people were jogging up all a way. The view is really beautiful, but the way up not so much.

Don't be fooled when you hear that this is just "1000 steps". While that description may be technically correct, this is much more intense than just a regular 1000 stair hike. Instead of normal steps, you are essentially hiking up old railroad tracks that were used to haul supplies to the bunker at the top. This means that the "steps"... More

The trail is a very busy place because the local used for their outdoor gym and the tourists want to see the ocean and the city. But worth for a visit

one of the best legal hikes to do in hawaii... best time to go up and catch sunrise is 4:30am... things to bring along: 1. water 2. flashlight 3. sweatshirt (for the top, if waiting for sunrise) 4. good pair of sneakers there's absolutely no rush, though i did this in 33 minutes... there's a parking lot at the bottom...
