This beach can be very busy. However in the evenings it is worth the walk from your hotel to see the sunset. Located across the street from Duke Kahanamoku's statue is a McDonald's. So you can eat cheap (for Hawai'i) if you want to.

Next to Waikiki, a bit more sand. Basically its an extension of Waikiki without the hotels on the beach. Crowded, lots of tourists. Nice swimming and safe. Beautiful coloured water

It is very lively during the day, loads of activities and romatically enticing in the evening. It is a safe area with police outpost visible and this stretch provides a nice walkign trail to the shopping areas

Lovely beach and lovely sunsets - but hey it's Hawaii and it's hard to find a bad beach. Although more sand and less of the coral sand would be good on the toes!

Great beach if you like the crowds but a lot to do from catamarans to surf lessons and just getting that nice brown tan. Make sure you keep an eye on your valuables but just ask if you can leave with one of the beach concession stands if your going to go swim or surf. Rent a snorkel and go... More

This is a very pleasant area of Waikiki. There are benches and stone walls where you can relax. Several nights a week there is a free musical show. If you want water sports there are surfboard rentals.

Kuhio beach (adjacent to Waikiki Beach) which is also known for surf contests. Very family orientated atmosphere and busy with tourists also.

Best beach in Honolulu....walking distance from Waikiki but better swimming and sunning area. There is a park behind the beach to cook out and it's also walking distance from Outriggers where you can rent gear to paddle, etc.

Love this part of Waikiki. The hula shows on Tuesday Thursday's and Saturdays are very quaint, educational, endearing and uplifting. A nice introduction for most visitors to some Hawaiian culture. The beaches are small but they change every block or so and each has its own uniqueness. Kuhio has lots of great swimming and boogie boarding. The pools are great... More

Great beach when the surf is up, plenty of people watching to do. Had a couple of runs along here first thing in the morning when there's not to many people about, that's the time to really appreciate it.
