The arboretum is at the end of the valley in Manoa. The people working with the facility are very knowledgable and helpful. If you would like to get out at walk, go for it. Be sure to take bug repellant and sunscreen

This, in my opinion, is better than Manoa Falls. You'll see the same beautiful rain forest, have the opportunity to hike some trails with multiple difficulty levels, see a waterfall (although not as large as Manoa) yet not be in the herd. We took an...More

Made the long drive down to Lyon to see their bloomed corpse flower for myself and had an amazing time. Entrance and parking is free but donations are appreciated at sign in. The arboretum itself is beautiful and breathtaking with an over abundance of local...More

This is right next to Monoa Falls and has a great hikes. The waterfall is much smaller but worth it since there are much fewer people on the trails. The grounds are beautiful.

Hiked around this place before we hiked Manoa Falls. This was much less crowded than Manoa Falls and had beautiful views of the valley. Glad we spent the extra time here.

This arboretum has a beautiful setting with sweeping lawns and misty hills looming in the background. The plant selection is good and the Hawaiian portion is particularly interesting to see but that section, and the plant selection in general, was more limited than we had...More

*Take bug spray!! *Good walking shoes. The ground can be full of roots, slippery rocks, rolling rocks, and steep hills. It will be very limited access for anyone who doesn't have good walking ability. *Get a map. Sign in at the visitor center and they'll...More
